If this were a PC related problem I could help. Otherwise you will have to go to the Apple/Mac store and pay through the nose to get anything done. Agreed, apple sucks if you know anything about computers. BTW, MS sucks too, but I know lots of people that can help me for free.

I lost songs and videos I had bought before that I can't re-download because Apple has forgotten that I already purchased those songs and videos.

Apple is a cult first and a ripoff second. I can build a computer just as powerful as an Apple for roughly about a third to half the cost. Only reason why I have an ipod is because I need a large storage device to carry all my music.

funny truth. i have 4 other ipod classics that were given to me because they were all broken. i took them all apart, made one good one from the parts, and used a few more parts to fix the ladyfriend's broken classic.

i also fixed a few Macs in the past year and giggled when i saw intel processors, ATI graphics, and western digital disc drives. Mac OS is very solid, ill give them that. i just hate itunes with the same fury as i hate the falcons.

No matter how the Appleites try to spin it, iTunes is and has always been an archaic, unnecessary mess.

iTunes match works excellent for me. I used to DJ so I had easily over 60 gigs of music. I matched it with iTunes and saved just about everything to the cloud (couldn't match about 20 or 30 random songs, most of which I didn't want or need). It even pointed out the multiple duplicates I had which helped me clean it up some.

Now I can wirelessly play any song on my iPhone, iPad, or apple tv at any time and the songs take up no space at all until I choose to download them on my device rather than stream them.

Edit: make sure you are using windows 7 or sooner, I had big problems trying to match with vista and upgraded to 7 and it went as smooth as a Drew Brees to PT screen pass.

1. Close all of your running apps and restart your iphone. Search for Stanza in the app store and download it.
2. Check in the itunes match for your collection. It is the way to go.
3. Chill a little. Life's too short.

In all seriousness you are making the simplest thing in the world complicated by attempting to do things in the complicated manner in which you (and everyone else) learned to do things. Apple's simplicity is so basic that people who are "good with computers" often can't even see it. But spastic computer people pick it up right away because they never learned the convoluted windows way of doing things.

When we first got an iMac, my wife intuitively knew how to do things. I was totally lost and mad at the thing and the people who created it. But then I let go, and things are so much better now.

You must unlearn what you have learned.

iTunes match will take any music in your iTunes, whether it's ripped from CDs, stolen from the internet or whatever, and give you high quality files you can access from any of your devices. You just have to sign up for it once. Cancel it after it sorts you out if you want.
You're so lost.
