I agree anyone can buy or not buy any product and is entitled to their opinion. Most of the time those discussions are civil and center around one product's strengths against anothers. What got me going was the "iphone sucks' thread and then a line of bullet points most of which were BS.

That doesn't lead to any kind of civil discussion.

If i started a thread and called it xbox sucks and then said it sucked because it didn't come with controllers, couldn't be played on a TV screen and had a data plan that cost $100 a month, I'm pretty sure some people that liked that product would jump down my throat and point out those 'facts" weren't correct. And they would have that right.

As has been said in another thread recently on this forum it is all in the language.

Those missing songs are probably in .wmv,.wma or .flac format...

It has already been disassembled:

http://stream.ifixit.com/

Looks like the battery is replaceable, it'll just be as hard to remove as it is on the standard iPod. The SIM card is not soldiered on as rumored.

Anyone for a TMobile iPhone

This thing is gonna sell, barring the over-expectations. It was more popular upon release than the iPod was (it was Mac only for Pete's sake). They also didn't over produce, and don't have excessive expectations of market share. I think they (Jobs) said that they were shooting for 1%.

Lines at every ATT store in NOLA. Talked to people in Elmwood and they said they sold 70 in the first hour. Delivered computer disks to a client today in line at the ATT store on Commons. The line went down the street. Bought one for my wife. Getting the 8 gig tomorrow for me.

Looks like it's a hit.

I got lucky and found an ATT store with a short line, and they had a large supply. Most local stores only had a few today. So far, it's a ton of fun to play with.

haus is an unknown quantity at this point
I waited for twelve hours today and snagged one. Gotta admit the price hurt but so far this thing rocks. Listening to a jim Rome podcast while I type this. The site looks great and loading isn't an issue over wifi. Hopefully over the network it'll be near this smooth. Took a little while to set up and would have probably been a nightmare for a novice but as of now I can't complain.

I was going to wait a few days. I went to another store, not realizing there was a Cingular store next door. My wait was about 15 minutes.

All the guys that spent a week in line waiting for an iPhone are looking pretty stupid. Apple website is showing that the phone is still in stock at just about every store in the country.

Its not that the phone didn't sell well, its that they apparently built a HUGE number of them.
