RF Modulator help.

okay, I am at my GF's apt. and she has a fairly old televison one that needs an RF Modulatore. She has a pretty old one but when i plugged it all up when i would plug in the power chord the light would go on for like an 1/8 of a second and then go off. I tried to unplug everything connected to it and see if it was being shorted by the television, PS3 or aything else. Well it wasnt so I went to Wal-Mart and bought a new one. I get home and it is doing the exact same thing i have nothing plugged into it only to the wall but the power light wont stay on.and i tried to plug it into different outlets and got nothing. Any suggestions?

If I read this correctly, you do not have anything other than power plugged into the modulator? If that's the case, the way modulators work is that they are activated by a device trying to use the connection. If you have nothing plugged into the modulator (or you have something plugging in but powered off) the modulator will turn itself off. Connect your device to the modulator, the modulator to the tv, and then power on everything. That should work if I understand your scenario correctly.

You're right that is how it works. I brought it to my apt and plugged it in like you said and it worked. But for some very strange reason every outlet in her apt that i plug it into it doesnt work. thanks for the reply and you were right.
