Anti-vaccination hysteria is probably more left-wing than right-wing in my experience. It's the ****** science denying foible that you'd expect of the right, but it's mostly hippies.

Anti-vaccine sentiment comes from both the right and the left. It doesn't really have a political home. It's just nonsensical, IMO, but plenty of people believe that stuff with absolutely no evidence. The shame of it is that there are kids with cancer or other issues that cannot be safely vaccinated, and if people without a valid reason fail to vaccinate it puts those kids at a much higher risk of dying needlessly.

True. It does need to be mentioned for clarity that the left wing does have its share of conspiracy theorists and just all around science deniers just like the right, and one thorn in the side of logic and reason of that sect are the anti-vaxxers.

As you said, stories like this are just falling in line with many of the other anti-science views Trump or his constituents have had and the fact that he and his are the ones in the limelight this time around.

My kid has Asperger's. I don't have these concerns and I interact with my son multiple hours daily.

It's not comforting that our president elect latches onto discredited theories to explain difficult circumstances.

I thought Trump threatened to sue anyone who said his kid was defective back when this was brought up a few months ago.

I know I don't. He'll not only get impeached, but he'll get convicted and removed. He might not have the sense to resign.

I don't know what's going to happen. He has the deck stacked with the republican congress. Even though almost all of this republican colleagues hate him, they won't move on anything having to do with Trump unless the public pressure is so great, they can't ignore it. Party first, after all. As it stands, a portion of the public will never be willing to hold Trump accountable for anything. That much has been proven or else he wouldn't be the president-elect.

Maybe in 2 years if congress changes to democratic control. We'll see.
