Trump press release touts praise (from other White House officials)

This is just funny to me. This would be like a press release from Apple senior vice presidents talking about Tim Cook's efforts on the new iPhone . . . or a press release with quotes from Saints front office types praising Mickey Loomis for the Cooks trade.

A press release for in-house praise? Weird.

Quote:
Senior Administration Officials Praise President Donald J. Trump’s Buy American, Hire American Executive Order

“I am proud to stand with the President as he leads on prioritizing American workers and American products first. These ‘Buy American, Hire American’ initiatives will stimulate economic and wage growth, while ensuring that our government is using high quality products that are Made in the U.S.A.” – Steven Mnuchin, Secretary of the Treasury

“Our top economic priority in the Trump Administration is to produce job opportunities for the American people. Developing incentives to buy American-made products and hire American workers is a key part of the President’s commitment to job growth and stimulating our economy.” – Gary Cohn, Director of the National Economic Council

“This historic act of leadership from President Trump makes unequivocally clear that this Administration will serve and protect the American worker – fighting for fair trade and immigration policies that promote rising wages and employment for our hardworking citizens.” – Stephen Miller, Senior Advisor to the President for Policy

“The Executive Order the President signed today ushers in a new, more muscular Buy American policy based on the twin pillars of maximizing Made in America content and minimizing waivers and exceptions to Buy American laws.” – Peter Navarro, Deputy Assistant to the President for Trade and Manufacturing Policy

Their quotes might as well all say, "I enjoy being employed."

Trump is fascinated with the medieval through Old West use of literal bodies in a crowd as crowd warmers. More modern con men would rely on shills that were paid but outside. Trump likes to pack a room with paid employees to applaud, to force employees to tweet or post praise, and now this. He literally believes the old snake oil methods actually work. I guess his base shows that on some they do.

All of this fascination with "paid protestors" (as if there aren't tons of people on the left that hate him for free) comes from his idea that any enthusiasm in a crowd is only built by fraud.

Funny how this administration isn't that different from North Korea's.

Yes, it's a tried and true tactic from authoritarian regimes.

That may speak to the general intelligence and discernment of your wife more than anything.

Just like the speech he gave at the CIA where his minions cheered his every word while actual CIA administrators and workers sat there dumbfounded by what they were hearing.

Trump has the credibility of a TV infomercial host or televangelist.

What's historic about it?

He added to an existing policy. That's history?

Trump has a massive ego which needs constant positive attention and the population at large is giving him negative attention, so he'll do whatever he can to ensure positive attention. If this means Trump purchases the attention then so be it.
