Are you kidding me? Evidence of Russian plans to blackmail Trump?

Intel chiefs presented Trump with claims of Russian efforts to compromise him - CNNPolitics.com

Quote:
Classified documents presented last week to President Obama and President-elect Trump included allegations that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump, multiple US officials with direct knowledge of the briefings tell CNN.

The allegations were presented in a two-page synopsis that was appended to a report on Russian interference in the 2016 election. The allegations came, in part, from memos compiled by a former British intelligence operative, whose past work US intelligence officials consider credible. The FBI is investigating the credibility and accuracy of these allegations, which are based primarily on information from Russian sources, but has not confirmed many essential details in the memos about Mr. Trump.
Quote:
These senior intelligence officials also included the synopsis to demonstrate that Russia had compiled information potentially harmful to both political parties, but only released information damaging to Hillary Clinton and Democrats. This synopsis was not an official part of the report from the intelligence community case about Russian hacks, but some officials said it augmented the evidence that Moscow intended to harm Clinton's candidacy and help Trump's, several officials with knowledge of the briefings tell CNN.

The two-page synopsis also included allegations that there was a continuing exchange of information during the campaign between Trump surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government, according to two national security officials.
So, the blackmail is the backup to ensuring that the cooperation continues. That last sentence I bolded is incredibly damning. If they have enough evidence to present this to Trump's face knowing it'll set him against them, it must be horrible. This means that during the campaign Trump was actively collaborating with a foreign power. This is probably the biggest political bombshell of the post WWII era.

Coldseat suggested this topic needed its own thread so I am creating one.

My post from the other thread:

Quote:

Quote:

Quote:
One reason the nation's intelligence chiefs took the extraordinary step of including the synopsis in the briefing documents was to make the President-elect aware that such allegations involving him are circulating among intelligence agencies, senior members of Congress and other government officials in Washington, multiple sources tell CNN.

These senior intelligence officials also included the synopsis to demonstrate that Russia had compiled information potentially harmful to both political parties, but only released information damaging to Hillary Clinton and Democrats.
Listen, I understand these are only allegations at this point but anyone who has been following this issue from beginning has to admit this seems troubling, to say the least. We are having to connect the dots Pee Wee style but this looks bad.

Putin has essentially pulled off a coup of the United States.

Trump's illness will be our downfall.

Well, buckle up, folks, this is gonna be huuuuge. This was forecast and should have been front page stuff during the election. Yet enough people still voted for this person without him disclosing his debts or ties to countries not friendly to the US.

And we knew that retired general was practically best buds with Putin, sat at Putin's table for an event and had close ties to Russia. Didn't Ivanka vacation with Putin's girlfriend during the campaign also? How can anyone be surprised there was communication during the campaign? The signs were all there from the beginning. The American electorate brought this on themselves.

We will have to see how Trump responds. Care to speculate?

Does he deny the whole thing? Nasty intelligence folks are saying bad things about Putin, who is such a great leader?

It's not like it wasn't brought up as a possibility, but yeah, here we go. This is really something on that can potentially be on the level of Watergate as far as scandals go. The question is whether or not it can be proven of if it just stays in the allegation realm. Either way, people will be digging and if it's there, it will come out.

Nobody should be surprised though, least of all those that supported and voted for Trump.

Yeah, Ivanka posted photos with Putin's new girlfriend (Rupert Murdoch's ex-wife) on vacation together in Croatia.

I see Galbreath made a thread too so maybe the mods can merge.

To speculate: LOL. Wow. I want to tread carefully because, again, these are allegations but this is a bad look. Its not just a bad look. I need to stop saying that. If true, the ramifications are incredible. I really don't know how the dude will respond. Which is worrisome, right? I mean he had to "fire back" at Meryl Streep. I don't see him letting this stand.

Yeah, sorry, didn't see you'd posted it in the other thread until a few minutes after I posted it. I just couldn't believe it didn't have a thread yet when I checked the board, so did it before catching up on the existing ones. Sorry.

How can you possibly compromise Trump? He behaves as if the facts dont exist except a few seconds DS before he tweets something. He is shameless and isn't concerned with anything outside of his own family echo chamber.

He's a paler version of Baghdad Bob who denies his own house is on fire as the flames lick at his heels.

It's a little after 7 PM Eastern, so 8 hours until Trump wakes up at 3 AM and starts freak tweeting on this. I honestly am looking forward to how he responds.
