Are some of you people really so sensitive that:
on the eve of the national championship,
being played by the home-town college team,
in the same city as the Saints playoff game,
where the majority of the fanbase supports both teams,
AND the band for that college team played at halftime,
that you were offended by people supporting that team?
Good God.
These types of threads, along with the lame "so-and-so said we're not the best team ever" threads show how thin-skinned some of us are.
Why do you need constant validation?
You ARE special.
There's only one of you.

That was because of the Sugar Bowl/BCS, not the Saints. They moved the Saints banners for the Sugar Bowl as well so they could put up more Allstate ads.
As for the marching band part, I remember Florida A&M coming to a Saints game pre-Katrina. Even they, a band from Florida, were able to incorporate some Saints stuff in their routine. It's pretty arrogant to assume that everyone at a Saints game wants to hear an LSU pep rally.

So long as im not "holding up the wall" or referred to as "see that creepy old guy over there" by a gaggle of 22 yr old hotties, im good.
As for the Arcade comment, that one hurt a bit. Not going to the Pancake Social now.

And again... FlA&M knew they'd be playing a halftime show at a Saints game and had the rehearsal time to incorporate something Saints related into their show.
LSU's band most likely hasn't seen a practice field since finals in December (after the SECCG), and didn't know they'd be doing that halftime show until last week. Realistically the first time they were on a field again was when they got to New Orleans late last week.

So the only songs/routines they have are LSU related?
I'm still bitter from going to the Saints-Dolphins game in 2005 and hearing "fans" (wearing LSU, of course) cheering for Nick Saban. That was pretty much the lowest point in my Saints fan-hood. At that moment, I thought we'd never see them in N.O. again and those numbnuts made it worse.

Oh no, I'm sure they spent a lot of time this summer also working on pregame shows for Alabama, Auburn, and Vanderbilt. It's the neighborly thing to do.
Of course everything they're going to do is going to be LSU related. They're the LSU band.

tigerbaiters are no friend of the Saints. Luckily for me, I've hated them my whole life, even while attending and graduating from there (which only cemented my hatred). So I wasn't surprised during the Katrina games in baton rouge at the condescending looks, the arrogance, the passive-aggressive flaunting of lsu colors, etc that came from a bunch of country people who resented a Nola presence there.
And this must be said - they are the bandwagonest fans I've ever seen. I remember the curly hallman era that produced crickets. Now, it seems like 90% of the people in LA only have purple windbreakers in their closets.
If you're wearing lsu stuff to a saints playoff game, you know what you're doing. You're trying to make a point. Don't be surprised when a true saints fan wants to shove that point up your bum.

the same could be said for the Saints. When I was growing up in Louisiana in the late 70's and 80's you rarely saw any Saints gear. Now it is everywhere.

Yes, that's how it works. You don't just learn songs and marches in ten minutes. Some more complex routines take weeks of practice before they hit the field.

What's the point of being a fan of a college football team when you can expect to have a good football team and contend once every four years and then know you're going to suck the year after winning a championship. Seems kind of predictable and repetitive to me, what's the fun in that?
Can't get into the college football
