Sad thing for Loomis, if he had extended Brees in the offseason, we probably could have saved some money as he was coming off a sub-par year for him, including way too many int's. Now Loomis has to sign a QB who just destroyed the record books and played much better than the previous year. Oh well, it will get done, I just wish it would get done a little quicker.
The shortened offseason last year was amazing for the Saints. Things got done, controversy got handled. We didn't have any major contracts to renew - such as Brees and Nicks, but there was that Reggie / Ingram thing that happened during the draft with Reggie's tweets. It got handled. Brought on Sproles. Things were good.
This offseason, with the new bargaining agreement in place, has been disappointing. It's not like we came into Feb. with "oh darn I forgot to renew Drew's contract". It's been known since last year! Did Loomis think that Drew was going to suck this year? Or have a career-ending injury? Instead things lingered for far too long between Drew's agent, Drew, and the Saints FO. Because it wasn't finalized when it should've been, say August 2011, we have some serious issues coming up and Free Agency is knocking at the door with plenty of teams eyeballing our QB, WR, and G. We have yet to sign the biggest no-brainer in NFL history, Drew Brees, to a long-term deal. Because of that, we have a rightfully ******-off Carl Nicks, the man is one of the best lineman in the league, the key to keeping that running game going and Drew healthy. Also, our every faithful #1 WR, Colston, who is as humble as any WR ever, needs to be re-signed.
Loomis has done some great things, and he may continue that greatness in the next few days or weeks, but until that time he has living under a rock, putting it politely. These 3 players, some say the backbone to the entire team, is on the verge of leaving. I hope I am wrong.
So far I'm looking pretty darn right. Unfortunately. So yeah, take that internets.
How do you figure? Just because nothing has been announced publicly does not mean that Loomis isn't getting the job done.

Speaking of rolls: In Loomis we trust, right? Yeah, how's that looking? He did some great things in the past, but we're getting screwed now.
The whole point of this thread is to show that Loomis isn't some perfect figure and when I called him out on "not getting it done" - well it shows now.
