Packers’ website likes Aaron Rodgers’ chances to hit 6,000 yards
Figured it'd be good for a laugh...

Before 2011, only two quarterbacks in NFL history had passed for 5,000 yards in a season. In 2011, three quarterbacks hit 5,000 yards. So how far are we from a 6,000-yard passing season?

If he plays 16 games and throws as much as drew does, the numbers say he can get there.

I can't deny that Rodgers has skill. He still comes off as an arrogant *jerk*. I find it very difficult to root for the guy. Even when playing against teams I hate.

If he has to keep throwing for 300-400 yards a game cause his defense is crap, and absolutely cannot stop anyone, then yeah he has a chance sadly.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Carmichael seems to favor a more balanced attack than Payton. Payton tends to stick with the pass with a kind of religious fervor.

an average of 375/gm would get him to 6,000. Not sure if that rate is sustainable especially if they are going into the playoffs. If he could keep his attempts to 40-45 per game then it is very possible.

I agree. I don't think anybody has the guts SP does to throw deep on third and 6 inches.

I disagree. at the end of the day, it is Brees who makes the call to either run or pass. It doesn't matter if Payton or Carmichael are calling a more balanced attack, if Brees see matchups that he likes, he'll have the freedom to audible as he sees fit.

Honestly, I don't think he'll get 5000 this year. I think they'll run the ball more than they did last year.

There's about 5 million reasons Carmichael will try to top last year's performance. That's what he should get for a HC job.

As much as Aaron Rogers stat whored 4th quarters last season...I don't think he'll ever get much more than last season.

I actually think he can do it but Drew is going to throw for 7,000 so it doesn't matter what he does
