For the sake of argument ONLY, lets say it's that 5 years at 115, it's still not a crazy deal depending on the structure. Condon could get his insane 23 M a year he wants. That might be the average but Loomis could give Brees a 30 mill signing bonus and guarantee years 1 and 2 at 10 mill a year (cap number a fair 16 million for years 1 and 2). Year 3 goes to say 16 million base and a 22 million dollar cap hit, year 4 goes to an 20 million dollar base and a 26 million cap hit. Year 5 is a total hit of 35 million dollars which they decide to either cut him outright and have a 6 million cap hit, or restructure and extend the contract since only the 6 million is guaranteed from the signing bonus. It's a big risk with the bonus granted but he's going to get a big number regardless and you are guaranteeing him 50 million basically (or right around 2 years of what Condon wants out of Brees' contract). It's doable and possible to make cap friendly enough that we can sign a couple of draft picks especially if we trim some fat off the current roster. ( I did the numbers in my head quickly so if I'm off don't flame me, you get the idea)

Talked to my friend about his "inside info". He told me a dude he works with told him. He didn't know where the dude he works with got the info but I assume it was from tigerdroppings or the girl tweet.

I feel like a horse's arse because I knew I shouldn't post a rumor. I'm sorry for posting a rumor and it will never happen again. I have to own this mistake and you guys can take your frustration out on me if you'd like.

Let's just wait til next Monday or Tuesday and see. Something is up. We just don't know what yet. Bet word on Brees and the Tuna comes then. Remember, OTAs start the 18th.

A year ago they didn't know their head coach was going to be suspended for a year. They HAVE to sign Brees and he knows it.

I heard this as well a couple weeks ago. They are waiting for bounty gate to clear up before announcing according to what I heard... Just a rumor though so far...
