When it comes to fishing...
I like to fish saltwater. Mainly inland waters or near shore. Specks, Reds Flounder, etc. During the warm months I generally fish around Vermilion Bay, but like to go to Cocodrie, Dularge, and sometimes Big Lake (Cameron). Once in a while I get a wild hair and go to Grand Isle.
I like to fish fresh water also... Just not so often. I used to fish a lot around Lacassine, back around Miami Corporation and the pool. Love to go to Toledo bend when the water is right. Have a little rent house near Chicot state park that is now vacant and am seriously thinking about turning it into a fishing camp.
My boat is a 21 foot Fishmaster bay boat w/150 Johnson. I've had it for 10 years, my brother and I share it, and am actually sort of shopping for a newer model (Has to be the right deal).
So what is your story?

Cool! Have heard a lot of good things about that Triton 24LTS.
Was thinking about that one, but also fell in love with about 4 other boats... Blackjack 224, Tidewater 2200 Carolina Bay, 221 Winyah Bay by Scout, etc. Too much to choose from. Going to the Houston Boat show on Wednesday. Maybe I will make up my mind.
So, how does that Triton handle the chop? Pretty Dry? What is your top speed with that 225 and what is your fast cruising speed (4500 RPMS)?
BTW - All that I could find of my boat was this pic I took when I first got it. Bought it in Florida. Hence, it was a lot of fun getting it registered.

I really miss fishing saltwater since moving to Tennessee, but have taken on some new freshwater species to make up for the loss..I mainly fish for catfish, specifically flatheads..Like to go noodling too..Lots of small mouth up here along with big stripers, sauger, walleye, paddle fish and brook, rainbow and brown trout..Do a lot of fishing below dams..I got a 16' homemade aluminum john boat my dad built, has a 40hp rude..

I miss salt water fishing as well. My Dad and I had a camp down in Cocodrie before he passed on. Spent as much time there as I could. Sold it when I moved.
Now I'm stuck with (mostly) barbless, catch-and-release fly fishing for various cold water trout (brown, rainbow). I do it occasionally, but it just isn't as fun as catching a nice red or specs two at a time.

Andrus, that fishmaster is the same boat as the old polars built here in Alabama. One of my good friends has the same hull as yours made by polar and I love fishing on that boat. Just a great simple set up with lots of storage. You could hide a couple bodies under the aft casting deck.

I have a 24 foot Boston whaler I bought new in 97. Fished the rigs off MS for years. (mainly snapper and cobia). Now I mostly fish the east marsh around grand pass and brush island , also chandelier for specks and reds. Love to wade dish all the islands off Ms. I also fish off my wave-runner

I have a hand me down that was a hand me down. 16' Alweld with a 50 Johnson. Boat sat for 5-6 years after my grandpaw passed. My dad tried getting it fixed, but after 3 mechanics that couldn't fix it, it sat for another 3 years. I got it running by changing out the fuel line under the cover :-)
If anyone knows how to work on boats, I have a question. I am very close to bringing it in to a mechanic because I can't figure this one out.
I rebuilt the carbs last week because I was having a flooding issue when running idle. Motor runs great when in gear. When in idle, it runs for a few minutes and floods out. Rebuilding the carbs didn't resolve this issue. Thought it did until I put it in the water... go figure right? I bought some more 3/16 fuel line and plan on changing out all the other lines. My next guess is the ethanol clogging the lines and starving the engine? When in gear, the suction is enough to get fuel.
Makes sense?
If I had the money right now, I'd have this instead of dealing with all this trouble. The boat has sentimental value, but it's a pain in the ***.

I even have the wife's approval on this one :P Just need $22k! Mako 18 LTS Inshore

Looks like $67.50 for 3 days. Might as well buy the whole season license for $90.

Right! It's a 2000 model and I think it was built by Dynasty. Not sure if that was before or after Polar was building them.
The thing I like most about it is that there is a lot of , like you said, aft and forward casting deck to stand and fish off of. A lot of the bay boats have a step down in the center of the forward deck, this one is even all the way across.

I looked at one at Bass Pro Shop in Denham Springs. What a versatile and cool looking rig. I was thinking, Damn, I can fish anywhere with that thing (except offshore... unless it's really slick and I am feeling really brave ). Easy to trailer, easy to maneuver, shallow draft. Put a power pole, some electronics, and troll motor on it and you've got a great all around rig for freshwater, flats, and nearshore fishing.
