i have seen a couple of mixtapes out there but don't know much about them. Does anyone have any advice as to which mixtape is worth getting, or the best?
There's a relatively new one that I've been listening to. It's called Three Stacks

I loved Cham's Mixtape Messiah vol. 1 - it was underground in Houston at the time - it's a great mixtape if you can get past the obsession with dissing Mike Jones on some of the tracks that, in their obsessiveness, get a bit sloppy.
Also - i highly recommend Danger Mouse's "Grey Album" which is, I guess, technically more "mash up" than "mixtape".
He takes the a cappella tracks from Jay-Z's "Black Album" and samples tracks from the Beatles's "White Album"
I've probably listened to that CD more than any other I've owned.

first thanks for the reply.hey where is a good place to get them? I downloaded "Back to the future" but i cant move the files anywhere. I am not the best pc guy, but im not stupid either. any help? They appear as mp3s but when i try to move them onto my phone, or onto a blank cd, they just don't move. I have seen 3 stacks, Whole Foods, Back to the future, and andre 3000 Alter Ego The Mixtape all on differnt sites but I cant seem to find somewhere to buy an actual copy nor a digital copy that is transferable. Im not asking anyone to do any work for me, just if you know of a good site, tip me off.
I just find them through message boards and normally you can download them and them unzip them. It may take you a second to familiarize yourself with the process but once you get it down it's easy...

I'm listening to the Black Album now and that CD sounds great I'll definately look out for it.

actually, I don't care for the Black Album too much lol
What Danger Mouse did was liven it up and make it sound more complicated, musically, than it really was.
I popped in the Black Album the other day, after having the Grey Album in heavy rotation, because my wife had never heard the Black Album.
She thought it sounded dull in comparison
Do yourself a favor too and check out some of the tracks on White Album too to increase your appreciation.
And the album was never sold - it was made in small numbers and not really marketed that I know of. So I grabbed mine off bittorrent.
But you can check out tracks at youtube.
I would embed one here, but there's language - but preview them over at youtube - just search for "Grey Album" and you should get most of the tracks to check out
I liked the Black Album, but I really liked the Grey Album, too.
My copy of the Grey Album has poor quality though, so I may try to find a new one.
Jay's American Gangster had some pretty good mash up albums as well...

I tried to find a better quality version of the Grey Album - saw one at a higher bitrate than the one I had but was never able to successfully download it. I suspect it was a fake file.
I'll keep looking though - if I manage to snag one I'll let ya know.
I'll look for some of the American Gangster mashups while I'm at it - thx
Speaking of mashups - I caught this one on YouTube and actually liked it, though I don't care for 50 Cent.
I actually found myself listening to this one a few times and liking it - In da Club and Toto's Africa

Yeah, definitely let me know if you find one and thanks in advance.
I really don't care for 50, either. I really liked Get Rich or Die Tryin, but to me everything he has done since has been pretty bad. I downloaded the new G-Unit album a day or two ago and didn't even make it through the whole thing before I deleted it.
