Who else listens to Blues?

Hendrix, SRV, B.B. King, Albert King, Clapton, Allman Bros, Robert Cray, Albert Collins, T-Bone Walker..I started listening to these guys after I finished high school and it changed my musical thinking for a life time, and helped me to quite a degree in guitar playing.

it's not a matter of "who's a better guitar player" or how many notes someone can hit, it's about the love and feel of the music.

been a fan of the blues for a long time. think it was local guitar player Buddy Flett who got me into the blues back in the 80's sometime. From there went to SRV. and from there on and on it went. Appreciate all many of the different styles, texas, chicago, delta blues. sometime I'm amazed how much I enjoy the really old delta blues style. big fan of Lightnin' Hopkins

I love the blues. I like more of the stratocaster tone type players. SRV, Kenny Wayne Shephard, Buddy Guy, Poppa Chubby, Chris Durarte. Been listening to Joe Bossamana latley. I really like his album with Beth Hart. Even though he has a more refined Gibbson tone.

Bossamana is the man, I need to get some of his records.

i love the strat tone, but also those hollow body players. B.B. and Freddie King, even Duane Allman's Les Paul had a sweet sound. I started playing a strat some years ago and that was it for me, haven't picked my Gibson up in 4 years.

Yeah,my Strat is my baby. My Gibson sits in its case. Its funny when I was kid. It was all about Floyd Rosed guitars and humbuckers as well as high gain amps. My playing now is so far removed from that its ridiculous.

For me, it starts and ends with this guy:

Not really blues, but some of the baddest guitar-playing you've ever heard.

I generally love Blues live albums a lot more than listening to a studio recording.

B.B. King's Live at the Regal, SRV Live at Carnegie Hall, Muddy Waters at Newport, Allman Bros Live at the Fillmore East. There's so much more raw energy in a live album
