Haven't posted in a while because, well, two kids will do that to ya. Call me old, call me out of touch, whatever, but I cannot find any decent music out there. I'm all over iTunes looking and nothing is really striking a chord with me.
Now my taste in music falls into two categories: good and bad. I just recently downloaded Adrenaline Mob and liked it. Harked back to the old power chord days of old. I pretty much like everything with the exception of hard core, hip-hop, country and the "new" metal i.e. cookie monster growling. Can't stand that. I grew up in the days of Bruce Dickenson, Rob Halford and the like and when you could tell one group from another.
So with that said, any suggestions?

I am in the "young" generation as I grew up in the 90's but I constantly found myself listening to things that were considered old and out dated, and I still do.
I don't think there is any good music anymore. All I ever hear on the radio is trash. We don't have any James Browns, David Bowies, SRV, BB King, or anyone even close to the original and creative minds those guys had. Artists these days are too busy trying to look like someone else (Madonna in her 50's trying to be young again, Lady GaGa trying to be like Bowie)
You might wanna check out Goyte, he implies a "doors" kind of music and its pretty good, and highly rated internationally.
As for myself, I listen to hard rock mostly so unless thats what your looking for, I can't really make any recommendations.
I'll list a few songs in my current pkaylist on Rhapsody, some are new, some aren't.
Passenger - Deftones
Gorgeous Nightmare - Escape the Fate
Two Weeks - All that Remains

Apocalyptica is a hard rock european band that do most of their music on the chello's, and its quite good also.
Sorry if it doesnt help. But I named some bands that arent main stream, hopefully you might be able to find a few songs somewhere in their playlist
Edit - sorry, I named the songs first and band secand prior to mentioning Breaking Bemjamin, then reversed it after.
Also, the band Dead By Sunrise has that Chester guy from Linkin Park, and its more Rock with a slightly darker twist then Linkin Park

Great suggestions everyone. Love 'em. So the oddest find I saw was a group called Ghost. They are classified as death metal but listening to them reminds me of Blue Oyster Cult. All the songs are great and harmonic. One song in particular, Ritual, has a great riff to it. I just have a hard time comprehending a vocalist with perfect pitch, catchy guitars, a solid beat all the while singing, "This chapel of ritual smells of dead human sacrifice." Check 'em out though, they're pretty cool......
EDIT - Just listened to Red Fang. Killer! Thank you. If you like them, you'll dig Ghost.
