The Obligatory Radiohead Worship Thread
This thread is designed to discuss your obsession with the greatest band in modern times.
If you believe their music lends itself to committing suicide then you haven't listened enough.
If you think "Creep" is their only good song...see above.
If you think this band can do more in 3 minutes that what Pink Floyd does in 20 minutes, then you are in the right place.
So many band have copied their style to success its ridiculous....Muse, Coldplay, Travis...and countless others have followed their lead into the abyss of music relevance....
Here's Exit Music to get you started....

The why for me is that no matter how hard they try to make an album I should hate, they fail miserably.
Remember how David Bowie made all that great music whilst changing his style depending on trendiness? Friggin radiohead changes their style to DICTATE the trend, not follow it.
I want Street Spirit played at my funeral.

Never heard of them. SR should have a music board where we could discuss these obscure bands.

Yeah... But the music board. It's just ... well ...

They're one of my favorite bands and are easily at the top of the "bands I need to see live" list.
The closest I've come was several years ago when I spend a semester abroad here in London. It was my first week there and I saw on one of my music blogs that Radiohead was playing a free unannounced show in London. I was jealous...and then realized that I was in London!
Of course hundreds of more people showed up than the club fit, and I ended up spending the rest of the night hanging out in the street outside the club with my friends, drinking beer and listening to the crowd cover Radiohead songs. Awesome night, even if I missed out on seeing the band.

The Five Most Annoying Fan BasesCurrent Ground
Quote:
“OH MY GOD YOU JUST DON’T GET IT SO GENIUS THOM YORKE OK COMPUTER GENIUS YOU’RE A SAVAGE.” That’s my impression of a Radiohead fan. Pretty good, huh? Radiohead is a great band, and they’ve made some brilliant albums, but frankly, their fans aren’t impressed by words like “great” and “brilliant.” They honestly believe that Radiohead is the single greatest musical entity in the history of the universe. I’ve got news for you Julien (or Sebastian, they all have irritating hipster names), they aren’t.
You know what? It’d be okay if they just kept those thoughts to themselves. But they don’t. They need to let you know that you’re far too unsophisticated to appreciate the precision and genius that Thom Yorke is capable of. You need to be reminded that you’re unable to appreciate a high-brow concept album like “OK Computer” or “Kid A” or whatever the hell they call their next album. And, greatest of all, you need to be told that you’ll never understand it, so don’t even try and please never speak the name Radiohead again.
Look, I get it. Radiohead is smart music for smart people. That’s awesome. I even enjoy the occasional Radiohead song. My beef is not with the band. It’s with these people that think their music is some elaborate composition that you need to “decipher.”
My sister went to a Radiohead concert a while ago in NYC and said that the tickets were getting scalped for $700. I’m sorry. There’s no concert worth $700. Get a grip, Radiohead fans.

I actually like Radiohead but, jesus christ, people, stop telling me they're the greatest band in existence. They're not. That would be Primus.

Heh. I was just making fun of antipop. They are one of my favorites, though.

by the OP's account, Radiohead would have transcended a Music Board if there had been one. If there had been a music board and if there had been a thread about Radiohead already, I would have already posted that I actually like "The Bends" better than "OK Comp" But alas...
