Maybe Rugger just didn't know how to handle 'drunk' buzd...
On Live, we've grown accustomed to 'drunk' you, and we even look forward to those episodes because it adds that spice that is missing when it's just Widge and zeetes.
You see, they're angry, but they're not Spicy!
So yeah, it's possible he was just at a loss for words, while we (on live) just giggle and provoke you more as the evening goes on.

i am certainly not questioning buzd's l33t tech skillzorz...i just haven't had any of the problems that y'all have

I've tried it with 3 different headsets, including the one that came with Warhawk. Admittedly, they are all the same brand, but the two I bought were highly reccomended by CNet.
And while those hoops might not be a problem once you know all the tricks, it takes awhile to learn where everything is and what to do and even if not, it's a PIA to have to do that for a minute almost every time I wasn to use the headset.
And, if buzd is having issues, then why do you just assume my problem is that I'm doing it wrong?

Hmm, that's possible.
But here is more evidence of wonkiness. I have the sharkoons hooked up with a 20 foot optical cable and a 20 foot USB cable so it should be a pretty straightforward config. I have the output set right, because I can get the game sounds through the headset. I couldn't talk, though - although I may have missed that setting.
But... when I went to take a drive around my living room in GT5, I got nothing through the headset. I guess it's something with that game, because even when I exited to the XMB, I was able to get sound through the headset. Back to the game - nothing.
Wonky, I say.

Disconcerting to say the least... I'm still considering a PS3, but the games on my wish list don't really have a MP component, or if they do, that isn't the driving force for me wanting the game. (GT5, Uncharted, GOW, etc.)

Of course it's wonky. antipope is trolling you hard. He's used both. He knows.
But Widge, you're making some erroneous claims about bluetooth. It works quite well on my iPhone in my car, and I don't think Apple has any plans on abandoning it. In your haste to concede (but not really concede) some pernts to anita, you've discredited yourself.

I concede noting.
Anyway, I didn't even know the iPhone had Bluetooth. But I guess it can't hurt to keep it for "that guy" who likes to wear a Bluetooth headset everywhere he goes. But people don't really use them anymore because it's wonky technology. Some work fine with some phones and not others. But, they all lose the pairing. It unreliable tech and most eithe are de-emphasizing it or getting rid of it. There is a reason most TV remotes are still infared instead of bluetooth. It's just unreliable and wonky.

All I can tell you is most modern cars have bluetooth built in where you talk handsfree with no stupid earpieces.
If it's wonky, that's news to me. I've never found bluetooth to be wonky. But I rarely use it. In my car only.
