Agreed.
This game is 720p but yet, the graphics look amazingly phenominal I must say. Like Infamous, somehow this game still looks great at 720p and those of you used to 1080p gaming will not miss a thing here.
I just starting playing and was really doing well. I was wonder, why are people saying the game is so hard? Then in the tutorial I got to this boss, a boss that I must say was the coolest looking, most epic looking boss I've ever seen..lol..were talking much better than pc bosses.
Oh, and he 2 shot me..lmao...
The combat is awesome as well as the polish. It's still early but I have a strong feeling I'm going to be spending a lot of time with this game. This game could be one of those rare titles that although it's terribly hard, at the same time it's terribly addicting as well.
I couldn't stand oblivion due to the horrid combat..I'm moving this game so far though.
Oh and after losing to the tutorial boss I'm not sure where I am at all..lol..Do I get another shot at him? Then again, I'm not sure I want to get to him again. he did after all 2 shot me..

You're suppose to lose that fight so it can introduce you to the Nexus, but you will get another shot at him eventually. After figuring out his attacks and having some much better gear I laugh now thinking about how quickly I lost to him. Only 1 shot for me and I was done.
The only thing I don't like about the game is eventually it doesn't matter what class you pick. You can eventually just level all the stats to your liking. It only matters in the beginning.

What a rewarding/challenging game..usually I don't like games that are too challenging because instead of a challenge the game comes off as cheap/cheating..
not so with this game....challenging and amazingly fun. Finally a fun rpg on consol!
I just wish I knew how to spend soul points at the Nexus to upgrade my guy...I haven't found a vendor yet either. I just wonder around the Nexus kinda confused.. I did however, piss off an old man npc there by attacking him for fun..well, that old geezer hasn't forgot it so now everytime I go to the Nexus I steer clear of him or he'll end up chasing me all over the place..lol

Er, I had to start over because I attacked the Blacksmith and he held a viscious grudge against me for that...hehe..
No big deal. I might start all over again even after choosing a soldier. The soldier wasn't as much fun as the knight.

Yeah, she's on the other side of the wall next to the old bearded little guy in the Nexus, right?
She only says a few sentences(can't buy anything from her) and I have yet to see how to spend soul points.
I'm gonna start over tonight. Any ideas on which class is easiest to start out with? I know eventually you can branch off creating your guy however you want, but I'd like a class that is effective.
Personally I found the knight much easier than the soldier. The knight, however, starts with very poor luck so scoring items is harder. So I'm not sure I like that...the Soldiers dps also seemed a little low.
How is a magician at the start?

I started with a K-niget. I got to the Tuturial boss, tried to run into the room and dive behind him. Didn't work cause he was in the process of swinnging his big axe on my head. Instant death.
Last night I played just for a short time because I was sleepy when I started. I tried running accross the bridge to the other side of castle. Made it all the way there avoiding the flying dragon's breath only to be slaughtered by the archers. I just turned it off after that cause I had already lost all my souls trying to pick up items while trying to out run the dragon. Then went to bed. Im gonna have plenty to do this coming weeks cause I have this game to break the repetitiveness of Uncharted2 which should be at me house when i get home.
I haven't spent any souls yet either other then to upgrade my sword after I beat the Phalanx. The staff woman tells me to go upstairs to speak to someone, but when i went there the game says "gathering something..." but never opened the door. Guess I wasn't patient enough to get into the room.

This game is great, but it definitely makes me want to throw my controller at things. I almost kicked my cat last night because I was really concentrating and she started playing with my foot which caused me to die.

I started with a Wanderer, for better luck and items. So far so good.

I can't remember a game that actually incorporates fear into the game so well.
The fact that the game is unforgiving and forces you to redo everything you did previously makes you actually scared to progress through the next 'turn' of each level.
Last night when I played, I was traveling down a dark corridor. Saw a body with an item. So of course I walked up to the body and hit x naturally. But as soon as I was in range of hitting X, a Demon just jumped out of the dark and lunged at me. He side swiped me and get a pretty decent hit on me for being one of the lower demons. Lesson learned. If you see an item be wary of what lurks in the vicinity.

So how hard is this game? I like a challenge, but I'm not really into games that make me want to throw my controller. Although I've never gotten into MMORPG (or whatever the acronym is) or RPG games on a console, I grew up as a D&D geek so I know and like the basic genre, but I'm wondering if I should just wait for Dragon Age.
