Fun game so far. Witch doctor is super cool..throwing spiders to attack mobs and summoning a bunch of arms on the grounds in an area of effect of damage= good times.

I played a wizard in the beta, so i started with a demon hunter. Definitely a slow starter - lots of traps and stuns, but doesn't do a lot of damage or AOE - mostly just slows mobs. Hopefully she will get some more potent abilities down the road.

I hated Diablo 1 and 2, yet I'm really enjoying this so far. All the classes seem fun, at least initially so far they are. I love the witch doctor though.
Servers are having problems though..I keep getting booted. But honestly, these sorts of things are expected on launch day.

I'm a little confused about the customization. It appears as I level up I'm giving no choices as to what skills to take...and I just click them to learn what is there. Is this intended or am I doing it wrong?

I think that's right. As you get higher, you will start getting runes that juice some of the skills you already have, so you will go back to them. Not sure, but I imagine once your skills are sufficiently juiced, it will be worth switching between them situationally.

I think the dearth of anything worth playing at the moment is going to cause me to go back on a promise I made to myself a long, long time ago and actually give Blizzard my hard earned money for this.
I got my hands on the beta for a couple hours, and while there were probably all of 2 neurons firing during that time, it did make the time go by with a quickness.

Is it like other games where the 2nd and further play throughs are only tougher because of power creep or do they have better/different attacks, AI, or anything else besides HP and damage output?

You eventually unlock all skills. The customization and damage increase/speed etc. of your powers or weapons comes when you use the different runes you unlock to improve them and also the gear you get. It is very gear dependent.

I've died twice by being disconnected from the client.
I feel sorry for anyone brave enough to play in hard core mode where there is perma death and drops are not even better than regular play.
One slip of your ISP or Battlenet, which has nothing to do with messing up in game, and your character is gone forever. Uh..lol..no.

I can't even log in to play.
3 different errors
First, stuck on Retrieving Hero List.
Then, error 317002. Can't get game configuration files or something.
Then error 75.
Martha even baked a cake (normally it's muffins) for the occasion... guess I'll eat it instead.
