That's why you should always keep a second 360.

According to Live tech support, it has caused a lot of problems but it didn't cause a problem for most people. I guess I'm just lucky. I blame Mongoose or possibly zeetes.

If I knew it would fix the problem, I would go buy one today. I really don't feel like spending all night on with tech support again only to have them ask me question like "is your XBox plugged in?"; "do you have an internet connection in your home?"; etc.; etc.

So, buzd, zeetes, I have a question. I'm not sure what this means, but Uproar seems to think it may (or may not) be relevant to my issues. So, my DNS and Gateway are showing the same IP address (192.168.1.1 I think). Is it correct for those to be the same?
Halp. Juxe? Problem not fixed. Stains not gone.

Yes. Better internets would probably help. But like Blasian said... It's more fun to actually blame the source of the problem, and not find any/every opportunity to brag about Kennah intertubes.
The thing that gets me though, is that they don't allow this to be a background DL.
I can't physically start the game until a 1gb patch is added
I'm not saying MicrosoftExplorerXbox360.live.com.net/US/Kennah!!11!` is perfect, but they definitely move in the right direction to make the online experience easy to experience.
Everytime I turn on the PS3 I feel like I just stepped into line @ the DMV on Airline during lunch hour and the only people working are Bea Arthur and zeetes (and Bea Arthur is dead!)

You know, I just thought of something. If there are actually other people on the PSN and/or games that could actually be played on the intertubes on the PSN, I can see if it's an issue with my network on if it is just an update issue. Of course, the PSN on a good day feels a lot like Live when it's broken.

Basically, I don't know anything about teh Asus rooter that zeetes told wedge to buy.
I was trying to find a manual online to help troubleshoot, but it doesn't exist. The only thing I did find was a few screenshots and they were less than helpful.
What we found... He is running a wireless connection, and it's been solid since the new router was put in. Turned on the 360 last night and the patch was initiated. After patching (and removing, and then reapplying patch various ways), the system failed repeatedly. Lag in the menus, jumping in/out of parties constantly, etc.
His network settings were on Automatic, and we moved his IP on the 360 to a static IP within the range keeping the subnet and gateway (192.168.1.1) the same as the 'auto' settings. We did this with the thought that we'd go open ports on the router after we got the static IP on the 360. We never got that far though.
The DNS we left alone however, and kept that set to Automatic. His DNS servers were 192.168.1.1 and 0.0.0.0 which seemed odd to me, but I'm no geeksquad, so I guess anything is possible.
zeetes - does that router process all DNS activity @ the router level and funnel that info/data down to the network clients?
I'm at this point...
