if i recall correctly, they didnt manufacture any 20 GB consoles with HDMI and the new chipset, and if they did, they didnt for long. best, safest bet is go with the 60 GB for 30 bucks more. + 2 games. you can sell the games to make up the difference easily.

If possible, make sure to play GOW2 at 1080i or 1080p if you can with the hdmi cable.
HDMI cable is essential. While it doesn't make that big a difference in looks over the regular high def cables, the sounds is lights out head over heals jaw dropping superior through any speaker system(including if you just play through your sounds from your tv, its still waay better)
Oh, and..
You have to go into the settings to change the resolution to get 1080i or 1080p, Not in the game, but through the menu.
Just PRESS the big button with the 360 logo on the controler when the game fires up(BIG button in the middle) then click Y(xbox dashboard), then SCROLL with RB button(like top trigger on right) over to the consol settings. CLICK that then CLICK display. Then CLICK HDTV settings.
PRESTO, then you can change to 1080i or 1080p..it makes a big difference. You just need to make sure your TV/lcd can do 1080i or 1080p. Combine that with HDMI and playing GOW2?
Heaven...

So according to IGN, this game is split into 4 different scenarios, and each can be beaten in 20-30 minutes?
Sheesh... I might not love the really long games, but 2 hours is not enough single player to warrant buying this for full price if this is true.

If true I might rethink the purchase...
Edit: This was encouraging.

No, Left 4 Dead isn’t a particularly deep game, doesn’t offer a ton of variety and could use some more polish in many areas…but it’s so immersive and satisfying the majority of the time that you will ignore some of its shortcomings. Not totally forgive them, mind you, but it feels like the good outweighs much of the bad. On more than a few occasions, I pointed out some glitch that came up during a match to a co-worker and the response was, “Yeah, but it was so much fun!” It’s like having a 1965 Mustang convertible with a faded ragtop…you can kind of gloss over the cosmetic for what’s under the hood and how it feels driving down the road.

I gotta believe I've misinterpreted IGN's comments... No way could it be that short and be getting such reviews. Anyone out there able to confirm?

Now, if there's a ding against Left 4 Dead, it's that the fact that there are only four scenarios, which is a small number to wrap your head around, and you can play through a scenario in 20 or 30 minutes on the normal difficulty setting. On higher difficulty settings, it'll take longer since you'll die a lot, requiring restarts at the beginning or the most recent safe house that you've reached. Granted, the four scenarios are highly replayable; you could play them over and over again and events unfold differently. There are two reasons for that. The first is the built-in "director" system that manages the action. If you're doing well, it will throw more zombies, like a sadistic dungeon master in a game of Dungeons & Dragons. If you're doing badly, it might decide to ease up on you a bit by providing health kits and ammunition. The second reason is simple human nature. It's a blast to play with others, but it can also be a hilarious experience, as well as a slightly frustrating one at times.

I thought this part was interesting.

Yeah, stuff is different everytime you run through it. Zombies are placed at different places as are weapons to keep things fresh. Throw in a couple of different levels you have a lot of replayability there in single player.
The thing is though the multiplayer is supposedly a heck of a lot of fun.
Just make sure to turn off friendly-fire. I would assume you could do that.

Another interesting tidbit from the 9.1 rating...
"Versus is cool, because it offers gameplay on team and solo levels at the same time. As survivors, you score better if you can get more of your group to the safe room, though you probably won’t want to keep putting yourself in harm’s way if one player keeps getting incapacitated by the zombies and need to be rescued. At some point, that kind of situation will result in an “every one for himself/herself” strategy, which is less effective, but maybe what’s necessary for survival. I imagine that’s sort of how it would be if you were in a group of people actually trying to escape a zombie blitz…you know, if zombies really existed…but they don’t, do they?"

Here is the final thoughts of the rating for those too lazy to read.
GAMEPLAY 9.6
It’s so immersive and satisfying to sling lead at an infinite number of creepy, crawly zombies! It’s not particularly deep, but there are far more moments that’ll make you grin goofily and move tensely to the edge of your seat.
GRAPHICS 8.6
Some of the visuals are fantastic, such as the zombie movement and death animations, but there’s also a lot of sloppy terrain clipping and glitchiness that hinders the overall experience a tad.
AUDIO 9.1
It gets repetitive (as most games like this do), but there’s fun variety in the spoken lines and the sound cues of various boss zombies are great for determining proximity and direction.
LONGETIVITY 9.3
No, it’s not a deep journey, such as Fallout 3, but what’s there will probably have players battling for quite a while in the game’s competitive multiplayer settings.
INNOVATION 9.4
Valve takes what could have been a run-of-the-mill shooter and injects enough freshness into it that it should stand well away from the pack. It’s a great blend of survival/horror and FPS action.
Overall Score NOT an average 9.1
So there explains why they rated it so high. I think the rating should have been higher, then again, I only have access to the demo right now. 9.1 still pretty strong, IGN usually doesn't sell-out like "we rate everyone good that greases us" gamespot.
