Spoiler Alert!!!!!!!!
The ending was both good and bad to me. The whole point was to save millions of lives, and I got the impression everyone died except for those who crash landed on the normandy. That the green blast whiped out almost everyone. I also didnt like that my two companions, never knew what happened to em once I boarded the citadel.

really? care to elaborate? I love the story don't get me wrong but you realize shepard dies between ME1 and ME2 and there is a whole fight for his/her body and it winds up at cerberus where he/she is rebuilt after crashing from space. oh and its interrupted so you have some scars on your face from it. Anyone who has watched sci fi things knows that machines use pure logic which doesn't always make sense to people like the killing of everyone to save everyone. Also they give no closure. Shepard doesn't die??? also in the final level how did the beam from the reaper ship not kill him? it just melted his armor? how does the illusive man get everywhere w/o getting hurt and how does he control Shepard? Also in the end when they give you options they don't really explain what path does what? i blew up the thing on the right side and it killed the reapers

I like being able to pick the ending. it really makes you feel like everything you've done over the past 5 plus years in every game comes together. and yes it was very good. I think some people just expected more.

"Pick the ending"? They were all basically the same. I don't care if it's sci-fi. I expect better endings.

SPOILER!!!!
I'm not saying it sucked. It was good but not up to the standards that mass effect has started since the 1st game. still better then most games i've played. I on't seen the one ending so far but having shepard not die was kinda disappointing.

Spoilers:
The Reaper VI told you how each choice was different, so it was explained. But you are right, I sure didn't feel like we SAW how they were different (other than the "secret" ending where Shep starts breathing again).
I don't know why the endings looked so similar in the cutscenes. Maybe this is one of the things they will flesh out in the rumored dlc?
I still think the indoctrination theory makes the most sense (and it pretty cool in my opinion). Even still, that would just mean that your choice at the end determines whether Shep gets fully indoctrinated or not. Well what happens after he wakes up? Shouldn't we get to end the war for real?
I think we need dlc to add closure to that.

I didn't get the war ending part to be honest. yeah it wiped out a large fleet attacking earth but what about all the reaper ships that weren't hit by the beam in other systems? Also how can they add a DLC if the game ends and you can't fre roam afterwards. perosnally I don't care cause I did every mission except for 1 I couldn't do cause I missed it (it was the side mission to the from ashes DLC, i missed something i had to pick up apparently) anyway with that said It felt like there should be some victory laps I could take with my team cause obviously Shepard doesn't have to die and Maybe some of your team died and some didn't?
