I dont need to do a google search to know the answer, my 360 sitting next to my ps3 tells me everything i need to know. A quick glance at my game rack furthers the point.

You know, regarding which system will end up being more popular, and MS having a head start, etc...
I think that we will be able to learn a lot from GTAIV. Both systems are expecting it to be a system mover. MS paid $50 million for exclusive content. Both systems will probably drop their price 6-8 days before that game comes out.
I think whichever system sells more units around GTAIV time will indicate who will win this generation of console wars.
Obviously, Sony has to move a lot of systems to catch up in the United States. If 360's sell more during the GTAIV launch, I don't see sony catching up ever.
A lot of people associate that game with sony. A lot of people who don't have a next gen system yet are PS2 guys. So, I don't know what will happen.
But it will be bad for MS if sony moves units during the GTAIV launch, and it will bad for sony if MS moves a ton of units.
Anybody agree?

i agree....seems as though if there are more 360s out there at this point, this is a good chance for sony to catch up to an extent.....if the sony fanboys are waiting on this game to move up to a ps3, i doubt the M$ exclusive content will sway them to buy a 360.....i would think that metal gear solid 4 could have an impact for sony as well

I would agree with you Mongoose but like antipop said a bigger factor would be MGS4 and I also believe FF and GT

Alot of signs point to yes, at least as far as the 360 goes. Again, it's all just speculation, but people who know a lot more about this stuff than me all think it's a done deal that MS will drop the 360's price by $50 bucks 6-8 days before GTA IV is released.
Here's the case:
- It's been 2 and 1/2 years and the console has only seen one price drop.
- Regarding the timing, here's what MS has done so far this generation-
US Price Cut: August 8th, 2007
Release of Madden: August 14th 2007
Length of time: 6 days
First word of Euro price cut: March 5th, 2008
Actual price cut: March 14th, 2008
Length of time: 9 days
Date Gears advertising trailer hit Xbox Live: October 25th, 2006
Date Gears went on sale: November 7th, 2006
Length of time: 12 days
The other side of the coin is that GTA will sell systems anyway, so why cut the price now?
The thinking is that MS can extend it's lead over sony with the price cut and with the GTA downloadable content only available on the 360.

What is it you dont get about having more choice and better games on the 360...thus having more in my game rack?
P.S. The reason for more games is threefold.
1. The 360 has been out longer.
2. More people own a 360, thus making the developers want to have games on 360.
3. 360 is easier to develop for, less costly, and more likely to sell more copies, due to reasons 1 & 2.

This Thread is Sad..... Ps3 is better in everyway, of course xbox has more games, duh it's been out over a year longer........
xbox has the highest failure rate of ANY GAME SYSTEM EVER.....
xbox has no web browser
xbox cost money to play online
xbox menu's are confusing as all get out
xbox has good 1st person shooters but ps3 kills it with sports games
xbox doesn't have GT5
xbox has continually went with functions that have failed ala hd-dvd drive
xbox is greedy, EVERYTHING cost money
