As reported by Digitimes, a Taiwanese manufacturer has claimed that a PlayStation 4 is on track for release in 2012, and that it will feature "body movement-based control like Kinect".

I'm assuming that it will have both. I also assume that when the XBox 720, or whatever they call it, comes out, it will have the Kinect system built in. That way Sony and Microsoft won't have to worry about losing so many sales to Wii because they don't have the motion sensing technology.

Meanwhile, Nintendo is about to release its next console that will feature nerve manipulation technology for actual touch sensation compatible with a huge library of terrible looking games.
It will outsell Xbox and Sony 30 to 1

i doubt this is true. next console wont launch till 2015 at least. Sony is still in the red from PS3 and i heard might be shutting down their sony pictures portion of their company. I doubt they release a console next year. that was the point of move

fwiw, there's been a few different rumors about a new xbox in 2012 as well.
I think 2015 is too far off. Once one release, the other will have to release as well.
I'm not sure we're ready for new consoles yet. Games being more expensive to make doesn't seem like the right direction currently.
I guess what I'm saying is, graphics and motion controls aren't going to sell me on new systems. I'd rather see more creative games. Something different, not just the same thing only prettier.
And the more expensive it is to make games, the less likely we'll see new, creative stuff.

What about a new console makes games more expensive to make?

Greater capabilities and hardware require more programmers and more expertise and more code.

I don't know that I necessarily agree with that. It's true to a certain extent that as games get BIGGER BIGGER BIGGER there is more programming time associated with it. But that's already here. Storage has outpaced power, so a new console doesn't necessarily imply bigger games. More complicated? Maybe. But programming is still programming. You're still interfacing with APIs that talk to the hardware. There will be the expense of the learning curve, but in terms of production (art, sound, marketing, writing, programming) costs, I don't think that's super-significant.
