Missing : One South Carolina Governor [Update: Found!!]
Sanford goes missing
The whereabouts of Gov. Mark Sanford have been unknown to state officials since Thursday, and some state leaders are questioning who is in charge of the executive office.
Neither the governor’s office nor the State Law Enforcement Division, which provides security for governors, has been able to reach Sanford after he left the mansion in a black SLED Suburban SUV, said Sen. Jake Knotts and three others familiar with the situation but who declined to be identified.

Perhaps he went looking for some stimulus cash.

We could only wish our mayor would get lost.

Sanford disappears to hike Appalachian Trail (on Naked Hiking Day)
We’re not suggesting that the formerly missing Governor of South Carolina specifically ditched his family and security detail to go hiking on Naked Hiking Day. But that’s what he ended up doing.
Until late yesterday, no one would say publicly where he was. Poof. He just disappeared.
The story started to resemble a John Grisham novel. A southern conservative governor and very vocal critic of a popular liberal president eluded his security detail and completely disappeared with his last known whereabouts — before he (or someone) turned off his cell phones — somewhere outside of Atlanta.
Staff was silent. Some were talking about succession plans. The First Lady though said she wasn’t concerned. “He was writing something and wanted some space to get away from the kids,” she said.
But many wondered aloud how this traditional, family-loving, Republican governor of a southern state could miss Fathers Day. After all he’s got four children! Was something sinister in the air?
Then it took a Farrelly brothers screenplay type of twist. Sanford had not disappeared. He was hiking on the Appalachian Trail. Coincidentally, on Naked Hiking Day.

I just love irony.

Sanford's Hiking Trail Got Stimulus Money He Opposed
Gov. Mark Sanford has spent a good part of South Carolina's past legislative session railing against, and even actively turning down, portions of Barack Obama's stimulus package. And when the session ended with Sanford losing his fight to reject $700 million in federal stimulus cash, he abruptly disappeared. Few people knew where he went.
Several days later, it was revealed that the 2012 presidential hopeful was in the midst of a mind-clearing jaunt through the Appalachian Trail, hoping to do some writing after a stressful few months. But even removed from South Carolina politics, the governor couldn't escape the stimulus.
The economic recovery package enacted by Obama includes money that will help improve the trail on which Sanford has been hiking.

Now we know why Big Foot stays hidden all the time. He probably comes out to show his face right around Naked Hiking Day and then is forced back to his cave out of fear.

God love 'em, these hardshell conservatives who always end up getting caught mid-kink. They're hiring hookers or picking up guys in bathrooms or sending dirty emails to interns or hiking naked in the Appalachians. This is what living a sexually repressed lifestyle will get you. You end up doing something stupid, like exposing your genitals to chiggers and poison oak.

Talk about a coincidence:
Quote:
Area man arrested for indecent behavior
PARMA, OH -- A local man has been detained in connection with what bystanders describe as a bizarre sight; exposure and explicit language toward some foliage in a downtown greenspace.
Police have not yet identified the man, who remains in isolation at city lockup.
According to witnesses, the man -- clad only in a t-shirt, Cleveland Browns jersey and orange Crocs -- walked briskly through the small park before stopping in front of some vine-covered trees. He then lifted his shirttail and exposed himself, and began murmuring obscenities at the tree and the three-leaved vines clinging to its bark.
The man was apprehended shortly afterward, without struggle. Detectives at the scene interviewed witnesses, who preferred not to be named.
"The guy looked vaguely familiar," remarked one bystander. "But my word, I've never seen such a small [expletive]!"
Charges are pending. The Parma police psychiatrist had no comment.

Criminal intent, or just bizarre behavior?: insulted plants in the park
