8-0 is pretty rare, and a first for the Saints. CAR has owned us. We have a few key
injuries. CAR's pass rush is coming on. We are now a "trophy" win. Every team will play
their hardest to knock us off. Based on the above signs, I actually favor CAR in this
game.
Our defense will have to play batter than we've played the past 2 weeks, or we'll lose
the game. I'm sure gg knows this, and will try to wake them up.

I hear what you're saying, but I do not fault the defense for the past 2 games and the close calls.
I fault the offense and the 8 turnovers these past 2 weeks.
You take away the turnovers and the Dolphins score 14 points (and 7 of those came on a holding on Vilma). The Falcons score 14 points (and 7 of those came on a blatant offensive PI).

How can you not hold the D accountable for their poor tackling against the Falcons. I saw Turner running hard on their first possession of the game. Later, granted our Offense turned the ball over, BUT it wasn't a short field. There was still missed tackles and bad angles for big gains.
As far as the pass interference goes: I would say were 1 to 1. Jabari's pick six could have not counted if they would have called the PI against Vilma when he hit White way past 5 yards. Yes this was PI.
Do I think our defense will let this happen again, do I think our offense is coughing up 4+ turnovers this game. NOT A CHANCE!
SAINTS WILL WIN THIS GAME

Indeed, this is one of those things that we will have to get corrected during our stretch run. If other teams are able to regularly ignite their running games against us, it could set a bad trend for our defense.

Yeah, 8 turnovers in 2 games will do that to your image.
We are beatable. Beatable looking anyway.
I felt funny about the Miami game. I felt confident about the Falcons. I feel funny about this game also.
We shall see :o

I like these trends:
Saints are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
Saints are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win.
Saints are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
Saints are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game.

Sunday, hurry up and get here! I can't stand hearing about "trap games" and Jake/Fox never losing in the Superdome anymore!! People, have faith! It is all going to turn out OK on Sunday...there is no way were are going to allow the Panthers to make 4 or 5 rushing TDs, and we are DEFINITELY going to score AT LEAST 5 TDs on offense/defense. And for the first time in years, I DO NOT fear the Panther's passing game in the least!

The Panthers are scoring a Goliath 18.3 points per game while allowing a meager 23.7, so they should easily win this game. /Sarcasm off.
Please people. I am so tired of people not admitting what they are seeing right in front of their eyes. The Saints are the better team here, and not just by a little bit but by LEAPS AND BOUNDS above the Panthers.
If you haven't noticed, we are playing through injuries, bad calls, no calls, missed field goals, turnovers and missed XPs and still winning by an average of double-digits.
If I am not mistaken, we will be playing this game at home, correct? Last year with a porous defense we were 6-2 at home. Now we have a ballhawking, stingy defense and we are gonna lose to a team that can barely score 20 pts, while we routinely drop around 40 a game.
When was the last time you saw a team score 35 points and have their scoring average DROP?

Well, we probably should've only been called for 2 fumbles. The Brees fumble should've been called an incomplete based on the Tuck Rule. The last fumble by Bell should've been blown dead, because his forward progress had stopped for well over a second. Even so, 2 legit fumbles, and an int are still too much. We need to keep turnovers to no more than 1 per game. If we do that, we win going away.

We know we have been exposed, and Atlanta did dome special things to run on us, mostly showing a handoff and run up the middle, waiting for the ends and DBs to come down the line, blocking them out with the TE's and WR's, and then watching Turner take the corner and get the edge. If we see this you can be damn sure that GW sees this. Teams have een attempting to take our first scoring drive away, either by playing lights out D on the first possession or taking the kick and attempting their best offensive drive. This should not happen gainst Carolina. Their D-line is weak and will be exploited. Their secondary is marginal at best. Look for Colston to continue his domination. Shockey will be manned against their good LB Beason. We will have to run the rock also. GW knows that all they can do is run. That is whay we are working out bigger run cloggin DTs, because Hargrove is undersized on the inside. GW will have the game plan ready, but tthe key to stopping their rungame, as others here have said, is getting out front early with the passing game and running up the score. It will be a battle though, Steve Smith loves to torch us. It will be neat to see him match up v Greer/Porter, the Dragonflies of the Swamp D!!

They'll be without their fullback Hoover, and using Tight Ends to fill in... we saw how well that worked for us last week...
Prediction: Delhomme gets sacked 6 times, and throws 3 INTs.

I really can't believe some of the doom and gloom being said here. Must be tough to be a Saints fan. Losing a game in the last minute has been second nature to us. Get over it.
Carolina did not play better....Arizona just played worse.
The Saints are going to destroy Carolina by three scores.
Believe it.

The days of Smith to Delhomme Hail Mary Passes resulting in PI calls or long TDs are over! Fred Thomas, Bullocks and Jason David are gone.
People, this is a new era. This ain't yo daddy's Saints.
We will dominate this team and the game from the outset.

I wish the reasoning of the two of the three was known.
I will say Julius Peppers will create havoc on our Offense's timing which could be pivotal. The question will be can we stifle him - or at least partially?

I will say this, if we turn the ball over 4 times again, we will not win.

Good post. I agree with every one of your points here except that if we turn it over 4 times it will be difficult for us to win.

Every week we go through this. Who cares what they say. Like always, they pick against us for the "cred" they get if we lose, and when we win "we were suppose to win". It's a win-win for them.
I'm only gonna care if I hear Payton is picking against us.
