I get that you guys have parades every other hour on the hour down there, but c'mon, having a parade for losing the Super Bowl? Wow.
|
Poor WetBob. You will never even come close or ever understand the city's love for this football team. This is our first Super Bowl!! Were you there when the colts went to their first Super Bowl? Whether we win or lose, we will still be proud of this team.

Man, I was listening to them all week. They are soooo envious of NO, they can hardly stand it. The morning guys are partically bad. You'd think they'd be happy for their neighbor to the east, but their jealousy is getting in the way. I did e-mail 950 Michael Grafield all morning and he read every email.

The afternoon guys were actually pretty nice with me; they asked if the Texans went to the Super Bowl and lost, would I go to a parade for them, and I said yes; they broke in to say that the Texans probably wouldn't have a parade, which I agreed with, but I said that a Super Bowl loss didn't mean the season was a waste and that they shouldn't hang their heads. They did seem to agree that the culture, relationship with the team, etc., was different in New Orleans, and said that I was "convincing". Never did they put down the idea for the parade; they listened, especially after I said I was a native of New Orleans and a fan for over 40 years...got a "wow" out of them. I basically said that based on the relationship, the parade (even with a SB loss) is not only appropriate, but necessary, to show how far both the city and the team have come, and to celebrate that relationship and the best season the team has ever had.
BTW, Biggio is pulling for the Saints!

This makes me think of the scene at the end of Jerry McGuire where another player sees Jerry and Cuba (Rod Tidwell) hugging and he says to Jay Mohr "Why don't we have a relationship like that?"
No one outside of Who Dat nation will understand and the news release about it was basically an internal memo. Get your collective nose out of our business and let us have our VICTORY parade in peace.
This is how we build our franchise... long slow burn and let it sit and simmer.. LIKE A GOOD POT OF GUMBO WE GET BETTER WITH AGE.

Wow....to be ashamed of your own team....I guess thats what you get with fairweather fans...they don't realize that either way their team did alot to get to that secular spot..To lose is not shameful, to learn from it is what matters. I'm living in dallas now and truely miss my old city.

Ask your quarterback what city he represents he may wear your uniform but he is New Orleans all the way you better learn to respect the fact that without New Orleans you would never have seen a Superbowl. We breed Champions down here so go pick some corn and ****.

Don't even tell him about meeting the team at the airport. That might blow his little mind.

Only if he was alive in the 60's.
And lived in Baltimore.

And that's why we are the best fans around, because we WON'T be hanging our heads in shame IF we lose the Super Bowl. We will celebrate this awesome ride that took place whether we win or lose. Now go get your glue factory ready, cause it's got 53 colts to process, not to mention the others that are on IR! WHO DAT! DAT NOBODY!!!

In other words... you are saying that unless your team wins the Superbowl you are ashamed of your team?
I realize that other teams don't feel the way we do about ours, but I honestly didn't think they were ashamed of their team unless they won the Superbowl. That is really sad. Most teams, say 31... would be ashamed of their team each year. That would be a horrlble way to live. You, no matter what team you were a "fan" of... would be ashamed much more often than you were proud.
Even in the Viking game, had we lost, we would have stood there in our seats and cheered with pride for our team. I feel proud of our team much more often than I feel ashamed... actually I don't remember ever feeling ashamed... disappointed sometimes, and have suffered through long off seasons waiting on next year.. but I think I have always felt proud of our guys.

My God you are a wet blanket.
You know nothing of the culture in New Orleans or what The Saints mean to many in this region.
We love our team dearly and we nearly lost them a few years ago.
Baltimore did actually lose their team - You currently root for them.
