There were no eyewitnesses, right?
Tehre was someone on the phone with the victim right before this happened, and some neighbors heard some screaming.
I am just supposing, but - If Zimmerman told the police that he got out of his car, confronted the teen and the teen then pushed him and Zimmerman fell down. Then Zimmerman grabbed the teen and felt a fear for his life and shot - then it seems, arguably, justifiable under the Florida statute.
Maybe that's why krushing carries a pistol to do yard work. If there is any chance you might get into a confrontation in Florida, make sure you're the one with a gun.

Nothing has been said about the teen having a weapon. Why would Zimmerman be in fear for his life?

Meanwhile, two state legislators who sponsored Florida's "stand your ground" deadly-force law in 2005 called for George Zimmerman to be arrested for shooting Martin. "They got the goods on him. They need to prosecute whoever shot the kid," one of the lawmakers, Republican former Sen. Durell Peaden told the Miami Herald. "He has no protection under my law." His co-sponsor, current Rep. Dennis Baxley (R), told the paper: "There's nothing in this statute that authorizes you to pursue and confront people, particularly if law enforcement has told you to stay put. I don't see why this statute is being challenged in this case. That is to prevent you from being attacked by other people."

The back of our property is very deserted. We don't have much police protection in rural areas and people will kill you for a little "meth money" especially if they think you are wealthy.

Why do so many headlines claiming that a white man killed a black teen? Zimmerman was Hispanic and grew up in a multiracial family.

You are so all over the place in this thread I can't keep up and am confused.

what I am asking, is why was he not arrested on sight when he admitted to shooting the kid?

Neglect of the first officers at the scene to do their job?

I believe it was because he claimed it was self defense and at the time, there was no evidence suggesting otherwise.
