At Worst, the Saints will Start 8-0
Just taking a look at the first half of our schedule, I can't help but believe that, at the very least, we'll start the season 8-0. Here's how it breaks down in my opinion...
Week 1 vs. Detroit - It's pretty much a given that we're going to pulverize the Lions, and if we're really on top of our game, I honestly think we could squeeze out two or three victories, here. 3-0.
Week 2 vs. Philadelphia - The last I heard, Donovan McNabb was unaware that games could end in a win - he just didn't know it was in the rules. I think this bodes pretty well for us. 4-0.
Week 3 vs. Buffalo - There's nothing new to say about Terrell Owens, and there's nothing period to say about the Buffalo Bills. I keep waiting for the day that team gets sold to any other city. I just want to see a team named something like, "Los Angeles Bills." Maybe a cigar could be their mascot and their cheerleaders could dress like interns...5-0.
Week 4 vs. NY Jets - By this point in the season, the Jets still won't be as cool as the Giants. 6-0.
Week 5 BYE - No way we lose this game. 7-0.
Week 6 vs. NY Giants - I like that we're hosting both New York teams back to back in the Dome. It just seems appropriate. Anyway, I think this is the game where Jeremy Shockey will be unleashed against his former team and perhaps catch a pass or two, maybe even for a 1st down! 8-0.
Week 7 vs. Miami - If we're lucky, at some point in this game Sedrick Ellis will eat Chad Pennington. 9-0.
Week 8 vs. Atlanta - I hate the Falcons. There's really nothing else I'm basing this on. I just hate the Falcons. During the course of this game, I will focus all of my hatred toward my television in the hope that somehow my thoughts and feelings transcend space and time or something, and Michael Turner slips on a banana peel, fumbling then breaking his face. 10-0.
Week 9 vs. Carolina - I think this could really be the hardest opponent we face all season, just because they're almost impossible to prepare for. I mean it - have you ever actually studied film of the Carolina Panthers? It cannot be done. Within five minutes, you're falling asleep. That's why they're such a pesky team, it's because they're almost too boring to prepare for. You spend the whole week crashed in the tape room, then bam, it's Sunday. Anyway. Jake Delhomme is a nerd. 11-0.
So that's the way I see it guys. I think opening the first eight games 11-0 is pretty possible. At worst, I think we'll at least win every game once.
Come on, September!

Not your best work Bayou, but still pretty funny...and you seem to accurately capture some of the opinions on here as well.

If that's the bad stuff I need to look up the old ones, cause I was laughing pretty damn hard!. I'll take 3-0 after the first week for sure! "Jake Delhomme is a nerd" is still cracking me up.

i hate the falcons too
last i heard, mcnabb is healthy...and westbrook may be ready for week 1...and neither bodes well for any defense
i like the fact that we get to play stafford and sanchez...and we get to watch them eat turf
i think this will be the year where we dig through the panthers hump...they are the true nemesis...i feel that the Saints will produce dominantly in the panthers games

ppl stop jinxing us, leave these thoughts in the back of your mind... if there is any prediction that i want rite now it is that we will finish last in the division with an awful record...stop posting these predictions, the football gods hate them
(Edit: I realize this post was for humor, but it still is bad for our karma)

They need to start requiring 'sense of humor' classes in high school; the OP is obviously being funny. Nice post.

If we do get to 11-0, I'm gonna be stoked.

What does that make the saints? If Jake is a nerd? I'm just asking because every time he sees the black and gold he turns into a bully. So if a nerd beats somebody up all the time what does it make that person?

CAR @ NO - week 9
no more Josh Bullocks or Kevin Kaesviharn for Steve Smith to abuse..this one could get ugly for Lloyd Christmas and the Panthers.
