New Orleans Saints prepare for free agency

The New Orleans Saints made just one minor transaction Monday -- re-signing backup quarterback Chase Daniel -- during the calm before the storm of free agency. Today promises to be much more action-packed -- for better or for worse.
The Saints were working into the night Monday on trying to re-sign key free agents guard Carl Nicks and wide receiver Marques Colston, among others.
Nicks said New Orleans finally made him an offer Monday and deemed it "respectable," though he said he hadn't made a decision on whether to accept it.
