Saints mailbag: Will Alvin Kamara get more touches?

By Nick Underhill -- Advocate

Alvin Kamara had 15 touches against the Dolphins, which is a pretty good number in this offense. I like what he's doing in this offense, and he's been one of the more dynamic players, but I think he's in the right role right now. Mark Ingram deserves touches, too.

The running game has had some issues. If you look at the number of runs that have resulted in either first downs, touchdowns our gains of four yards, it's only around 45 percent this season. You'd like that number to be closer to 60 percent.

That's something that should start to improve as the offensive line gets healthy. And when that happens, Kamara and Ingram should get some better looks, and it will be easier to call a higher volume of running plays.
