Saints Saints 2018 Year in Review: Tre’quan Smith

Tre’Quan Smith’s first season in the NFL went as well as one would suspect of a rookie wide receiver, but then again, Saints fans have been spoiled with rookie receivers who came ready to play at an NFL level. Marques Colston, Brandin Cooks, and most recently the un-guardable Michael Thomas all excelled in their inaugural season putting up impressive numbers.

However, most wide receivers don’t come out of the gate as hot as the names mentioned above, and instead have seasons that look similar to Smith’s:

The only thing that would help them even more would be their own version of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

NEW ORLEANS -- The Mercedes-Benz Superdome erupted when New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram busted loose for a 36-yard run early in the fourth quarter on Sunday.
Saints fans have grown to love watching "Angry Mark" run -- a nickname he has earned because of his hard-charging running style and the clear emotion he displays on the field.

Nobody is immune to the paralyzing depression that grips the New Orleans area if the Saints lose a big one.

Non-football fans who wake up the next morning without even knowing the score will soon sense the gloom. With the Eagles two touchdowns ahead in the first quarter Sunday, a really blue Monday threatened to engulf us all. Thank the Lord for whatever turned the tide.
