Ever heard the term robbing peter to pay paul?

This is just a question like would you cut off your pinky to do something type of question. This is a hypothetical and only want to see how willing we would be able to go to fix the defense.

Well would you if you are the GM trade this years third and reggie bush for KC #5 or jets #6 and get Ellis/Dorsey with it? Then at #10 get rivers or DRC?

Our defense would be great and we could use our 2nd to get forte. I still think Payton has issues using reggie. I love Reggie but i kind of get the feeling this FO has a problem using personnel. I think if our Oline doesn't get fixed Reggie could never see his potential.

I think strike while the iron is hot and use a player to get more players. We get a stud DT and CB/LB for one RB that might never live up to the hype. With Reggie being a Tweener in certain areas can cause us fits. Is he a RB or WR? How often do we run him or let him catch passes. I think he can be a blessing as much as a distraction. He is paid a bunch yet do we sit him or play him.

I still think with the correct personnel Reggie can be a superstar but i have a hard time thinking he will with us. Our coach loves to throw the ball. Our O-line last year was terrible. If faine and stichcomb were our problems and if we can correct it then ok lets keep reggie. If not lets try to use him to build a team. I know loyalty and all but if someone is replaceable and can give me a top pick and make a whole unit good then i say go for it. Saint having the #5 or #6 and the #10 pick. We could be real good real fast.

Ok send the militia.

It's all about finances. His cap hit is ridiculous until his 4th year.

The FO will never entertain the thought of trading Reggie Bush. There's just too much potential.

First off he is untradeable. The Chiefs have LJ so you can scratch them off. From the way things look we might not be able to even get either one of them at 6. Dorsey might go 3 and ellis might go 5. So in doing this we would screw our self

It's not at all about finances, you DONT trade the face of your Franchise, unless you wanna go back to the 40 years before Reggie, Hey do all ya'll haters remember that??? I sure do.....

You DONT trade your best player.... you DONT trade the face of the franchise, you DONT trade the heart of the team.....

True but all this talk of getting a RB in the first round is crazy.

How much did we invest at rb since 99.

ricky, duece reggie. good lord.

Who do you think is worth trading to build at other positions?

A dream of mine is to somehow grab Ellis or Dorsey, and DRC. I would sacrifice the rest of the picks and Reggie, if we could somehow avoid the monster cap hit. That's a big sacrifice, but our defense needs a boost and an infusion of youth.

Brees is the face of the franchise. Media, Hollywood and California view Reggie as the face of the franchise.

Reggie is the face of the franchise. I know Drew should be, but Reggie is. Although his luster is off from last years "off" year.

Reggie is not going anywhere.

Ditka!

Yup. Off the deep end.

We should trade Brees, Colston and Reggie and get us one hell of a defense!

I think you just insulted Brees and Colston, who have earned their pay since joining the Saints. :hihi:

All seriousness aside, we need defense. A little pass rush last year and we could easily have went 10-6.

I agree with both statements. I am not a Bush Hater and will jump on his case i am afraid this FO doesn't use him correctly. I 06 we did a lot of stuff and seemed to streamline it in 07. People said we were a gimmick offense in 06. How can we have been gimmick and make it to the NFCCG and people still think the spread offense is legitimate. I think in 06 we used reggie the right way. Reverses, his half back pass was not too good but need to use it more. He was a decoy and not really the all time RB. Last year yes duece went down but go back to the two rb on the field at the same time. I think Payton or Reggie got arrogant and said i can make him an every down back.

We need Reggie all over the place in different positions. Give defenses fits make him take double teams away. Imagine if Meachem is the real #2 receiver threat. You got Colston Meachem and now reggie out as wr and Duece or Pt in the back field. Someone is going to make a play.

I just have questions about the coaching. EX: Danny clark, KK, J david, Fred Thomas, Bullocks, Simoneau, Shanle, Brian Simmons. All these guys are poor and yet we thought they were the answers at the positions. This team went from "earn it" to government jobs as it was hard to lose your spot.

So back to the idea of the trade. Do you have faith he will be what you hope or get value for him now?
