We still have 20 something days, but I love to see the popular opinion....please vote.

I always like the mocks at NFL Draft Countdown, the guys do their homework and consider both needs and BPA. I take them only as reference because you can always expect surprises.

For me the ideal scenario is for Jerry Jones to think he is one player away for the superbowl, and offer his two first rounders for our 10th. We may be missing on the top corner or linebacker, but we would get 3 draft choices in the top 40.

Now, picking one before the steelers I will like to surprise the world and take Albert at 23. His impact at left guard will be stronger then even drafting Mendenhall or an offensive tackle. I think he can make the same impact as Hutchinson and be a pro-bowler for many years to come.

With # 28 it is great value to go with the top defensive tackle or corner. Good chances Laws, Flowers, even maybe Talib will be there. If we take Laws here, we can take corner at 40 or viceversa. I think there still will be great value at linebacker on the third round for us.

In this case scenario, worst thing that can happen is that Albert is gone and we can lock linebacker, corner and defensive tackle, all in the top 40. You make your combo, and none will be too shabby.

BTW Bagouser? is there a poll to come with this thread? we are asked to vote...

I could have went on for days with possibilities....tried to think of the best and most reasonable 12 although there are lots of trade scenarios.

There's the poll......wish I could have worked Terrell Thomas in there somewhere...oh well. I like the Godfrey kid too.....

Man, this is tough.....I'd much prefer Leodis over Jenkins. If it were Leodis, Simms, and the Keller...I would vote for it.

I guess I'll have to go with one of the Dorsey ones.

So...Shockey or Cason....?

22. Albert 28. Cason. 40. Laws 72(?) Gooden, Crable or Bell
22. Connor 28. Cason 40. Laws 72 (?) Carlson or Finley

Both, dream scenarios...

And two logic ones:

10. Rogers-Cromartie 40. Laws 72(?) Gooden, Crable or Bell
10. Rivers 40. Flowers or Cason (no way he be there) 72(?) Moore or Sims
10. Rivers 40, Laws 72(?) Lee, Porter or Molden

So many combos, I'm already thinking I should have voted different. It will be an interesting draft.

Here's what I'd do. Trade 1st and 3rd for Dorsey or Ellis, looking more and more like Ellis is more likely to fall, then trade down to the late second and get an extra third.
Then we take Dorsey/Ellis, then an offensive lineman (Carl Nicks, Roy Scheuning or Sam Baker) with the late second and go BPA with the rest.
Both lines were why we underachieved last year and that needs correcting.

Honestly I would Like Dorsey or Ellis in the First and Mayo or Sims in the 2nd

I like this idea to though I am hoping Strief is ready to play RT

Actually the first day is only 2 rounds now.

But I got Rivers and Cason. I saw a mock that had Kenny Philips slipping to the 2nd round and we would pick him up, now that would be ideal for me.

I shied away from any trades because I don't think we will for whatever reason.

Jenkins/Laws/Lee

Just the Jenkins/Law part would have me happy.

None of the above. Some are possibly close, but I'd prefer something like:

1. Sedric Ellis ( trade 3rd next year and swap firsts this year possibly with NE)
2. James Lofton LB
3. BA Cornerback/ PR

Or maybe:

1. DRC
2. Laws
3. Highsmith

either shockey or cason with dorsey... hell, almost *anybody* with dorsey is fine with me
