Alright, first of all, Todd McShay stole my top ten. I did not factor in trades in my mock, but I have been looking and thinking at mocks, reports, ect. I now think that the Saints will be the only top 10 to trade down. At pick 10, Rivers is the best player available FOR US. However, 4(DEV, CAR, CHI, DET) of the 5 teams picking after us, need Mendenhal more than anyone available. Detroit isn't used to not picking in the top 10, they need a RB, and they know that if they sit still, someone will take Mendenhal before them. BUF wont trade with them bc they want the best WR available, they swap 1st rounders and give us their 3rd(#76

1.MIA Long OT
2.STL Long DE
3.ATL Ryan QB
4.OAK McFadden RB
5.KC Dorsey DT
6.NY Gholston DE
7.NE McKelvin CB
8.BAL Clady OT
9.CIN Ellis DT
10.(TRADE) DET Mendenhal RB
11. BUF Kelly WR
12. DEN Otah OT
13. CAR Williams OT
14. CHI Albert G
15. (TRADE) NO Rivers OLB

#40 Laws DT (possibly Pollak C)
#76/#78 (TRADE) to PHI for Sheppard
#147 Rucker TE
#177 Lowry CB
#217 Dunlap OT

That's what I think will happen. What do you think?

Thats a solid draft for us. two thirds instead of a 2nd and a 5th...I wonder if they would go for that. I mean its pretty good value based on what they want, two thirds is pretty good.

Trades

Somewhere between picks 15 and 20 is a better spot for Rivers than pick 10. To end up with a starting CB and players that would eventually start at OLB and DT would be an excellent draft.

Now whether or not that be a better draft that say Ellis and Brandon Flowers, Kenny Phillips or another DB in the 2nd round, it is hard to tell.

I don't know if that could really happen, but I would be very pleased with that draft.

In that scenario we have to trade up and take Ellis

Like the draft a whole lot.....Rivers/Laws would be a great first day!

I think people here overrate Laws because of his intangibles. Granted, those are very important, but you can't invest too much into them.

Oh well, it's all a crapshoot anyway. We'll see.

i like trading back for Rivers... he would still be there at 15 for sure..

very nice but i doubt that happen. we don't have that type of good fortune. =(

I really don't think Cincy, who has a huge need at DT, is going to just match up draft value and trade with us. I don't even think they'd be interested in trading at all unless we just way overpaid.

We need to trade up to the Pats to bypass Cincy. Right now Cincy is bluffing about taking anything but a DT (they want an OT, they are going to switch to a 3-4 etc..) they they have too many holes to trade up and are posturing hoping we will just stay at 10.

I am actually encouraged we might Get Dorsey or Ellis at 7

I think that KC has to draft a OT in the worst way. They need two and are used to big time players there. I really think if we offered Stinchcomb,"whom I like" to them along with #10 pick and maybe a later round pick 5th they would go for it. Then we could pick up Ellis and the best CB available with the 40th pick or maybe Kenny Phillips falls that far. Trade our 3rd rounder for Lito and we should be set on D.
