I shouted OFFSIDES as the first kick-off took place. My wife ran down the stairs to see if I was going to be ok or die of a heart attack. I told her that I didn't think today was going to be a good one as soon as I saw FLAG painted in yellow on the screen. My wife tried to sit next to me...when all of a sudden I jump to my feet with a ...FUMBLE!!!, at the top of my lungs. She loves it when I smile. After 2 pounds of knuckles I thought to myself, but not out loud yet, this year COULD have the makings of something I rarely get to witness. WAIT...FUMBLE!! Now the wife cowards back up the stairs knowing I was not going to be a happy camper.

I could sit here and brag on how loyal I have been throughout my 38 years of following my hometown team. My true observation was...Payton was being out-coached and the Raven team got ALL the breaks.

I finally settled in with the realization that this team is a young, brand new and not yet a cohesive unit.

I am still sticking with my hopes that the Saints can go 4-1 in each of the 4 quarters of the season, yielding a 12-4 record. Loss 2 has now been logged. The big question is...can we go 7-2 the rest of the way. Eternally optimistic...ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!

On the opening quick off, what happened??? It looked like some sort of onsides quick. It didn't go very high at all. It ended up falling around the 40 yeard line

They just tried to pooch kick it to catch them off guard, but it didn't work. It either does or it doesn't, it didn't.

The Ravens got every single possible break they could get. Last 2 games they've had 4 tipped passes for TD's. Just psycho once in a lifetime luck.

It was written for them to win that game. Nothing we could of done. Every turnover went there way, every penalty went there way (thanks refs), every challenge went there way....etc.

I know they may of FORCED alot of those but thats what i'm saying. It was a perfect storm situation for them. Everything went the way they wanted.

If you think about it, this was the anti-Falcons game. Maybe this was karma's payback. It is still worth it to have beaten the Falcons. Although this loss was a bitter pill to swallow for us fans, I'm sure it is even more bitter for the players. I as certain as I can be that they will come back next week focused and with all the hype shaken off. Let's roll!

Not only was it a botched pooch kick, this is what made me the most upset:
J.Carney kicks 42 yards from NO 30 to BLT 28. J.Johnson to BLT 34 for 6 yards (S.Gleason). PENALTY on NO, Defensive Offside, 5 yards, enforced at BLT 34.

The stats do not report who the culprit was (and I already deleted the game off of my TIVO) so I do not know the player that was offsides. But, I can tell you he was at the bottom of the play nearest the Saints sideline.
