Never believed in any of the UFO stuff before, and thought those who claimed to have seen them were all loons, but I'm certain I saw one last night.

I woke up in the early hours, sometime around 3 or 4, and went to the bathroom. Then I came back into my room and realised I'd left my skylight open.

It was as clear a night as I can remember, not a cloud in the sky, and I went to close it when I saw a light flashing between the trees out side my window.

It was like a star, only going in between the branches even though there was no wind and it was much brighter than any other stars I could see.

So I opened the window and heard a noise like a distorted engine in the distance, then things went eerily quiet. I kept my eyes on the thing and it was definately moving.

I watched as it moved really fast over my head. It was a perfect triangle shape and had a flashing light at it's tip and red and green lights on the bottom. The weird part was it made no noise.

It went from far in the distance right over my house and behind in about a minute.
I grabbed my camera but realised I'd left the memory card in my laptop and didn't have time to go and find it as this thing was going so fast.

I was really freaked and went back to bed, but it's still playing on my mind. What kind of silent, perfectly triangular shaped jets are flying around the Belfast sky at 3am.
Anyone have a logical explanation for this?
I know I wasn't dreaming or seeing things and the night sky was absolutely clear. I've been googling but can't find anything whatsoever.

Seen a few myself over the years. Not saying they were aliens, angels/demons or any other "extra" terrestrial explanation. But they were things I couldn't identify.

Well, there is no telling what kind of aircraft goverments are flying around in these days, I've seen some odd lights in the sky before myself, like you said something that can't be explained.

Well someone is going to ask so...seeing that you are in Ireland, how many Guinness did we consume last night?:banan25:

You mean, they didn't pick you up and sexually molest you???? :D Just kidding. There are certainly unexplained things in the sky, almost every night, IMO. What they are I don't know, but, they do appear.

What kind of movements did it make? Were they quick, decisive, sharp movements, like heading one direction and then instantly changing to another? Just curious..

When I saw it in the distance behind some trees it appeared to be making sharp quick cuts but then it flew over my head seemingly in a perfectly straight line. If I had to guess I'd say it was about 10,000 ft up and doing at least 7-800 mph, although I have no knowledge of aviation and am probably way off.
