Perhaps already discussed, but with his recruiting background, he should have a good handle on most of these draft and FA players.

As far as a talent scout on USC players he will. :)

I am wondering if he is going to be our next Defensive Coordinator if Gary Gibbs doesn't get it together this year...

Whatever he does he is a great asset to the team and a brilliant signing.
He certainly has an eye for talent and has the experience so I hope he does take the role of a talent scout.
How great would it be after Colston and Evans to find an all pro DT in the 6th or 7th round.
You look at teams like the Dolphins getting Zach Thomas or the Browns getting Derek Anderson late, I really hope we could build a great team around those late and undrafted guys like Marvin Mitchell, Jermon Bushrod and Zach Streif.

No. It's not really his job. He can offer some insight into a handful of the players in this draft, but he's not a talent scout and probably won't be asked to serve in that capacity.

sure hope so! we need someone to step up and give us that "critical edge" over opponents. it's been proven time and time again, that that's a major advantage in the nfl. good question and i hope we've found someone ... ...

Don't think he will have a hand in scouting "per se", but he does have alot of contacts from his college recruiting days and he could be a valuable asset when it comes to getting UDFA. He gives us someone that may have already established some sort of relationship with a particular player, even if they didn't go to USC or Ole Miss, that could persuade them to sign with us instead of another team. It's a longshot, but you can never underestimate comfortability. He would give us great insight to players who are from "SEC Country."

Many coaches are the best on any given team for talent evaluation and scouting--head coaches included. Spam, Coach O has scouted many of these players in the draft. A large part of scouting is talent evaluation. The Saints are not known for having the best scouts--unless someone in the organization drives one from International.

Regardless whether he helps in recruiting players, he will help this D-line....i still think he was one of our biggest off-season acquisitions..
