uuuugggggghhhhhhhhhh...0.7 seconds and they just lost the lead... down by 1 :(

All they had to do was make one STINKING rebound at the end. Just utterly deflating that they stopped the shot then let them tap it in on a rebound.

I hate Pat Hitler and the Tennessee Vols, Jack. I hate 'em! I hope Stanford beats them by 40 points.

I think I actually found something worse to watch than baseball. That was brutal after watching the Hornets-Warriors....and then LSU finally decides to let TEN play offense with 7 seconds to go.

THIS is why I don't appreciate women's college hoops- too predictable.

For decades, Tennessee has done to other teams what the Hornets did to the Spurs in the 102-78 win.

I just can't stand how LSU can't buy a break.

That was disgusting I don't know how the womans basketball exists if that is how most games are. They scored 19 points combined in the first what eight minutes of the game. I feel bad for LSU but come on make a free throw and you don't lose with seven seconds left!

Buy a break? How bout make some flappin free throws? 7 for 19????? Garbage garbage garbage

Yeah, that game was hard to watch. I would flip over and watch a few minutes but found myself not able to watch, the non-execution, players left WIDE open, missed foul shots, brutal, just brutal. LSU didn't deserve to win but I don't think Tenn. did either but somebody has to. GEAUX TIGERS!! Through Thick and Thin

And how about make some shots? Anyone know what their field goal % was for the night. It must have been abysmal. Tennessee's wasn't any better, I imagine. It was a brutal game, really, when it comes down to that.

Field Goals
LSU 19 of 54 = 35.2%
Tenn 21 of 69 = 30.4%

Why in the world would anyone want to go to a women's basketball game if that is the product? Either the games are complete blowouts (see earlier round scores in the tourney for supporting documentation) or the game is just a nightmare to watch like against UT. Most fans don't watch women's basketball unless it's a really huge game like the one last night, so that game set women's basketball back like 5 years.

I know they are allegedly "great defensive teams" but half the time, the other team for both sides were allowed to just drive to the goal unguarded (and then they missed the friggin shot!) Furthermore, I don't care how strong your defense is, it can't keep you from missing free throws. Both teams were horrendous shooting the ball. I honestly feel like neither team deserved to win, let alone even play in that tourney. That was terrible.

LSU had like 18 or 19 points in the first half? I could have been more successfull just throwing the ball up at the end of the shot clock every possession from the halfcourt than they were running actual plays.

That game was weak, very very weak.

And what's even worse? Those are historically the two best teams in the country year in and year out. UT, LSU and UCONN are just about it for female basketball. Occassionally there are one or two other teams that will pop up here and there. But wowzers. That game was brutal.

Hey tv announcers, it's not great defense if the offense couldn't even make the shot unguarded right underneath the goal! That's just terrible play on both sides!

And great defense? We couldn't even hold a lead with 7.1 seconds left. Where was the pressure? We just totally let UT drive to the goal and have that game! That was terrible!

The mistake the coach made was with 7 seconds left and up one he should of stayed back on defense and force them to take an outside shot, instead he decided to pick Parker up full court spreading out the Defense, she drove right past that with little resistance, I thought she was going to lay it up until Fowles helped at the last second, leaving the back side wide open. Should of just packed into a zone to stop the penetration and force and outside shot. Plus, a few free throw wouldn't of hurt either.

That was terrible. This was my first time watching a women's basketball game through to the end. Is it always this bad? Every sport I watch I get some kind of appreciation for the skill level involved, but, not to offend any women's B-ball watchers, I honestly felt like I could have stepped in and put up 15 points and a couple rebounds by night's end. Missing point-blank lay ups galore, weak rebounds... even I can hit a jumpshot from time to time. I do commend Sylvia Fowles for her defensive presence, though. Some of those blocks were great. Other than that, it was just painful to watch. It sounded like the male announcer agreed with me. Maybe I was just subconsciously comparing this game to the Hornets game I watched earlier.

That will probably be my last Women's basketball game, unless LSU manages to make it to the final four next year, in which case I'll suck it up and watch to support the school.

EDIT:
Field Goals
LSU 19 of 54 = 35.2%
Tenn 21 of 69 = 30.4%

Good God. And how many of those were uncontested jumpshots and easy lay ups. :covri: I'd love to see the shot chart from ESPN as to where each shot was made/missed.

Both teams were so one-dimensional on offense. Tennessee goes to Parker, LSU goes to Fowles. The reason Tennessee won was simply because they got a little more help on offense from other players than LSU did.

And while I am not a big woman's college basketball fan - its sort of silly to judge the sport over one game. I mean I have seen similar games on the men's side.

You're probably right. Maybe I'll watch a few minutes of the championship game.

I watch just about every sport under the sun, but women's bball is the one that I cannot get into at all. I will watch softball, curling, gymnastics, golf and just about any other women's sport from time to time. I can barely make it through the highlights of the women's bball games on the local newscasts. It is truly a difficult sport to watch.
