Talib, Manningham Tested Positive for Marijuana Multiple Times in College (2 Viewers)

Talib in the 2nd! Yeah, I said it.

May he who has never lied about smoking pot while they were young cast the first stone.

We don't need to know this. This should be confidential information for the teams and that is it.

I really don't understand this culture in which every thing that you have done in your life should be public. I understand that it is relevant information for future employers but not for the public in general.

Well, if it's true that several teams are dropping them off their first round draft boards, and these guys do indeed drop, it wouldn't be long before we found out why anyway.

"Talib was suspended for two games in 2006 for disciplinary reasons and has numerous non-drug-related issues that concern teams, although he has told teams that he has changed his ways since his daughter was born on June 22, 2007."

avoid talib.... until the 3rd round

Could someone pleae give me a reason, morally, why this is still a concern.

Forget the law, lets talk morals.

What is morally wrong with a pot user.

Every 8 seconds someone dies form a tobacco related illness world wide.

Drunk Drivers kill innocent people daily.

Presciptions are abused to the fullest extent.

I need a good explanation, as to what is the moral standing behind pot laws.

Again, why are these kids considered to have character concerns,
when coaches players and politicians, get caught drunk behind the wheel, soliciting prostitutes and many other outrageous actions.

But a kid does pot, and it cost him millions of dollars.

Note: Please avoid the obvious: "It's illegal so you shouldnt do it."

Think more along the lines of, "Why is it illegal."

Imagine if your character was judged upon whether or not you've ever drank a beer or smoked a cigarrette.

This is probably all happening because Kiper predicted us to pick him at No. 10.

Well said...and if every player in the NFL who had smoked dope at college were banned tonight we'd probably be looking at 10-man rosters.

Because it is illegal, and owners don't want to risk all that first round money on a person who has shown questionable decisionmaking, plus face all the bad publicity from it. Saying that, I don't think fans care about what a player does off the field nearly as much as they used to. I mean, San Francisco fans were the only people who showed love and support for Barry Bonds over the past few years.

its true everyone has tried it but some are stupid enough to get busted. That should make there draft stock fall.

Personally, I feel that if someone wants to smoke in their private time in a responsible and controlled manner that it shouldn't be prosecuted. Bring it in public, go to work stoned, drive stoned, do things you shouldn't do when drinking booze while being stoned, go to class stoned or smoke it when you know it's going to be something that you will be screened for and you've made a bit a of an idiot of your self. If this is true then, for no reason more than expecting that player to be in and out of suspension, I wouldn't want them on the team.

Do I feel this makes them criminal? Not if the only way it's shown up is in a piss test. To search your body and compell one to incriminate his ot her self is not what that constitutes to me. Still, to play in the league is not a right. To play in the league is a priviledge. You gonna risk that and all that money to be stoned? Not what I'd call good decision making skills.
