The Washington Times, America's Newspaper

The "Extreme Liberal Supporters" who call for Iraq withdrawal......looks like more than half the country are "Extreme Liberals"

"The latest USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds that 59% of Americans support setting a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq and sticking to it regardless of conditions over there."
Poll finds solid support for Iraq withdrawal, more political pressure - On Deadline - USATODAY.com

I guess the Iraqi People are "Extreme Liberals" as well...
from 2006

"BAGHDAD, Sept. 26 -- A strong majority of Iraqis want U.S.-led military forces to immediately withdraw from the country, saying their swift departure would make Iraq more secure and decrease sectarian violence, according to new polls by the State Department and independent researchers.
In Baghdad, for example, nearly three-quarters of residents polled said they would feel safer if U.S. and other foreign forces left Iraq, with 65 percent of those asked favoring an immediate pullout, according to State Department polling results obtained by The Washington Post."

Funny how you use a liberal news paper as a source for your liberal reteric against McCain. It shows where you stand.

Allsome.

This post was $$$$$.

Look, the political reality of Iraq says that most people there want a pullout and the sentiment is the same in this country, McCain sooner or later will follow suit. He has too, I do not think the Democrats are giving up power anytime soon in the House or Congress, the pressure will be on. To lump McCain in with Bush is laughable IMHO. Through out most of his career, McCain has shown a willingness to work with most Democrats on issues facing this country, thats saying a lot more then Bush has in his whole presidency. I find it funny that when a candidate comes out for office like Arnold in California did in 2003 the people who used to call him a friend railroaded him and have been critical of his whole resume as Governor. People like Warren Beauty, Sean Penn, and other people who would not give a damn otherwise if he had not run for governor now say he is a scum bag and infers that he is reprobate. *** is that all about? What is it with these people and their double standards?
Look, McCain has never said he was perfect, in fact he is deeply flawed as a person and has a checkered past. he makes no apologies for it and he says it with a lot of honesty. That shows me at least he is being upfront or trying to be. That I can respect a lot more then probably %80-90 of people in DC today

McCain is anything but honest and will essentially be Bush III in office. If he wins watch how many neo-con scumbags get appointed to his administration. I would like to say thank God we have a Demo congress to balance the scales, but they have been rendered nearly completely ineffective even under a lameduck pres.

I guess we will see, City. I disagree with you on the Democrat Congress being ineffective. One might think they might have done some good things in them coming to the center and actually trying to work with the other side. I guess your viewpoint is different on these things.

How does he have to do anything?

He can just mimic the Bush administration and ignore popular opinion.

If anything he has even more of a stubborn, self-righteous and impatient nature than Bush nested in the same sort of limited mental capacity.

Woe is us.

yeah that's the old mccain...the new mccain supports the bush policies..he has changed almost everything about his platform just to appease the idiot far right...that i do not respect...just look at that letter in the o.p. he wrote it and signed it with that 2004 esc " if you don't support the war , you are against the troops" b.s.

Thats a bit shortsighted black. McCain did go to an unpopular war like the one we had in Vietnam and spend 7 years in a NVA camp while all the time being tortured and mocked and possibly shown to the world's media in humilation. That means a damn lot more to me black then some guy who avoided the draft in 1971 as far the troops go and public opinion.
