ABC.com: Jimmy Kimmel Live! - Upcoming Guests

CP3 is slotted to be on Kimmel tonight since the Hornets play the Lakers in LA tomorrow. How would you guys feel if one of the Saints Players did this during the season the night before a game?

The reason I bring this up is there is so much negativity towards Bush becuase of the commercials he shoots, I'm curious to see the boards opinion on Paul doing filming a TV show, especially considering all of the Bush Commercials are filmed in the off-season, not the night before a game on the stretch run before the Playoffs begin.

IMO, I think neither are big deals and I think both are great for them, their teams and the city. But, I can't imagine the ground swell of criticism Reggie would recieve if Reggie was on Kimmel or any Late Night Show the night before we play the Raiders during the season.

Just curious of your thoughts....

If Reggie has as good a season as CP3 than I say let him be on TV as much as he pleases.

If the Hornets keep winning and Paul is a big part of it...not much he does off the court really matters...

Same with Reggie and the Saints. If Reggie helps the team win, people will stay quiet. If we're losing games, he will be scutinized.

I don't necessarily agree with it. I think both guys are good players and good people, but that's the nature of the business. Especially in pro football.

So basically you don't think it affects game play, you just think CP3 earned this opportunity and Reggie, to date, hasn't?

I think most would agree it doesn't affect gameplay, Reggie earned it in is college career and Rookie Season, but after his Sophmore season it's clear more focus needs to be on his game, which I think he also realizes.

Let's not forget that while the Kimmel show is on late at night, it's actually shot at like 3-4pm PST. I know a few people who have been guests on some talk shows and the entire process takes less than one hour....much shorter than someone shooting a commercial. I don't see a big deal in this at all. If it brings more awareness to the region....it's time well spent in my book ;)

If it doesn't affect gameplay, then why shouldn't he be on the show if invited? BTW, you contradict yourself in that post.......it doesn't affect game play, but then you say after last year he needs to focus on his game.:idunno: I don't understand?

BTW, I don't get the whole "Reggie shouldn't be doing anything but eating and sleeping football" phenomena that has taken over this town....which is why I brought up this article and situation.

Yeh everyone should be more focused this season. 2007 was a major disapointment. We should easily win our division with the talent we have.

Hopfully we don't make the same mistakes next season. I trust coach payton, Drew, reggie, colston...I think theyre all great leaders and theyll get it figured out.

I see no problem whatsoever. The Hornets are not playing today, he's had an MVP season so far and like you said, they are already in L.A.

What's funny is that Bush is actually extremely dedicated to football. Ask all of his coaches. The thing that impresses them the most is his commitment to staying in shape, improving, and winning. He's a competitor, but still people want to see him as a guy who doesnt feel he needs to improve.

I completely agree...just brought it up because of the whole Reggie commercial uproar during the season.

What about my analogy? Do you think this board would go nuts if Bush were to be on a Late Night talk Show the night before we played the Giants in New York?

Personally, I think the board would go absolutely crazy.

FWIW... I honestly can't think of any NFL player that has been a guest on any late nite talk show during a season unless it was on that team's bye week.
