Thomas is the Liability, not McKenzie. (1 Viewer)

sorry guys, but Freddie is washed up, He stays burned.
MM is not a shut down number 1 corner...

Our secondary is weak and got exploted.

Add Stoutemaire to the mix and if you have a powerful back (like lewis) that can run from a singleback set, now we are in a nickle formation (cuz they are in a 3 wr set) and craft is on the field too...

forgetaboutit

We are not that good a team, The coaching staff has hid that well, The ravens came prepared and knew our weaknesses...

WILLIAM PETERSON!!!!!! He would be huge for us and I hope this coaching staff gets him quick. By the way stop complaining about Thomas and McK. Who do you want to play Carft

You guys are beating up on the CBs but you're overlooking another very important aspect of pass D and that's the pass rush which has been almost nonexistent the past few games. Other than Charles Grant, the front four by themselves hasn't been able to generate much pressure on the QB giving him an eternity to survey the field and find the open receivers. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Gibbs has been blitzing that much and when he does it's just a LB or two. No corner or safety blitzes to speak of. I'm not sure why this is so. Perhaps it's personnel. I don;t know but I'm trying to figure out sometimes what they're trying to do on defense.

With that said, even with the poor play of the D, the game was lost yesterday on turnovers, two of them were returned for TDs. Everyone needs to also keep that in mind.

Whoever here says MM gets burnt more the Freddie must not watch many games.

Whats your definition of burnt? 50 yards? Freddie was killed in the carolina game over and over and over. Hes been killed in all but 2 games this season. Meanwhile they don't even throw to MM's side of the field but he gives up one play a game and all the sudden hes terrible?

To much snap judgement and not enough actual watching of the film.

What made our DB's look like crap yesterday was our D-line getting no pressure.

I'm tired of everyone bashing McKenzie and giving Thomas a free pass. Seriously, if you've been watching the games Thomas has been the corner teams chosen to pick on repeatedly and who has been burned over and over. Not trying to be negative, just saying McKenzie I think has played pretty well this season, or atleast better than Thomas.

I have seen some plays where the defender gets caught out of position, falls down, or there was some type of mix-up in assignments, but I recall anyone in our secondary get burned this year. They have been solid as a whole the entire season, including yesterday. McNair made some fantastic passes and the Ravens receivers were focused and caught the ball well.

Burned is that move that Joe Horn put on Ed Reed or Marques Colston out on Chris McAllister, two of the best DB's in the NFL...

With the exception of Rod Woodson and Deion Sanders, there has never been a CB who wins far more than they lose and that was before rules changes that help receivers create space to catch the ball.

thomas is one of the better cbs in my opinion, Mckinsie is not, he has lost a step and gambles too much because of this

I don't get how you can think that? Is it because Fred has been with us so long?

I mean yeah in his prime he was good but hes not better then Mckenzie now.

You gotta like fred because he battles his way to the postion every year. He may not be NFL CB material, but he is the best we got!

I dislike Mckenzie because at least Fred tries 100% Mckenzie acts like he is one of the best and he just gets beat.

Why are we talking about this anyway these are our starting CB's this year lets just support that.

For anyone who says McKenzie is afraid to tackle . . . I don't know what games you have been watching. From what I have noticed, McKenzie seems to be one of the better tackling corners in the league. I think he's very good in run support. He does a good job in pass coverage, but is not a "shut down" corner. I think everyone was expecting McKenzie to be a Champ Bailey type corner but he has never been that type of player. He is however a good starting corner. I don't understand how people bash his play but praised the play of Harper. Before he got injured, Harper was caught peeking in the backfield which resulted in several deep balls. Harper's pass coverage had been very inconsistent. He's a rookie and will get better no doubt (he's definitely shown flashes), but I don't understand how people hate on McKenzie but praised Harper.

OMG.. he just hit the nail right on the head.. i had been wanting to say this for god knows how long about harper... every single TE that harper has gone against torched him on numorous occasions, especially Kellen Winslow.. i was astonsihed after the Cleveland game how everyone bashed MM for his penalty but absolutely no one bashed Harper for his pass interference penalty on Kellen Winslow in the endzone.. which is why i honestly cant understand the over praising of this Harper.. other than that "seraph" basically spoke all of my sentiments..

So basically you don't like McKenzie because you "think" he doesn't give 100%, even though he consistently shuts his side down while people pass all over freddie T.

Sorry don't get the arguement.

I think that even with Bailey at CB, we'll be whining... if u cant put pressure a good NFL QB will just kill you.

Ask the Ravens about Delhomme... and even if they played soft D in the second half, I bet the Ravens punk did not want Brees to have the second best passing yds game of the Saints history, and a rookie WR torche them for 2 Tds and 160yds+.

I'm still wondering if the shut-down CB McAllister found his shoe after getting beat like a rookie by Colston on that fake slant.

They got the win, they were the best team today. But pse dont expect the Saints to allow only 14 pts a game and 160 yds passing, it is not the dome patrol anymore.

fred thomas was attacked 9 times for 8 completions yesterday....that is not getting the job done... if you remember the Carolina game Steve Smith lined up on McKenzie twice once he beat him then McKenzie had good coverage on the other then they picked on Freddie the rest of the game. he had 11 tackles that game Smith and Johnson had 16 catches between them. no he's not been beat deep, but when the other team needs a complete pass they are looking Thomas' way.

McKenzie is the best CB we have. I also don't see why people hate on him and just ignore it when Thomas gets toast.

Fred gives you what you expect. McKenzie has never lived up to his hype, and bye the way I guess you didn't watch the game because D. Mason was all over the place. He had on of his best games.

Fred also doesn't demand the money McKenzie thinks he is worth. I can't wait for this guy to leave the Saints!!
