I just think that the Ravens will try to jump ahead of the Falcons and trade with the Rams to get Matt Ryan now that Steve McNair announced that he is retiring . The Falcons will definitely draft Glenn Dorsey at # 3 . The Rams will benefit a whole lot because they can trade down with the Ravens and then the Saints if Seddrick Ellis is there at # 8.

We can't eliminate anything........I don't know why people want to act like they KNOW certain things about the draft.

Baltimore has had private meetings and workouts with Ryan, Henne, Flacco and Brohm. There are plenty of ways they could go.

If Matt Ryan was really a franchise QB he would be off the board with the first pick....

Either that or they are asking too much from Parcells. He is in the process of negotiations and I think Parcells is smart enough to know that all of the top players are worth about the same, why not get the best monetary deal. They need SO MUCH, they really didn't want to draft 1, but no one was willing to trade back.

Even with McNair announcing his retirement, I still do not think the Ravens will attempt to move up. This just is not the character of Ozzie Newsome who calls the shots for the Ravens. He never has reached for need in the Draft, which is exactly what he would be doing to move up to get Matt Ryan.

He can be a franchise QB at #2 or in the 7th round. Going #1 overall for a QB doesn't mean he is a sure "franchise " QB.

Do you think the Ravens were really counting on McNair this year and for their future?

Except that whole trade up for Kyle Boller fiasco

The Browns did a study a few years back on QB's taken 1 and 2 and said in the last 30 years only 28 of the 60 QB's taken were good picks. That's a clip of 41%, meaning 59% of the time you pick a QB high, he will bust. That's an amazing stat.

In a year that there is no bonafide stud at QB, no matter what team we're discussing, I'd wait until the second round or at least late first to grab any of these QB's.

That's not a logical response to the statement "If he was really a franchise QB, he would be the #1 overall pick."

The statement isn't saying "All QBs taken #1 overall are franchise QBs," it is just saying "If a QB is believed to be of franchise quality, a team like Miami that needs a QB would take him at #1 overall."
