About a week ago (was probably on the old board) a member posted about a conversation he had with Mike D. Along with about a page of information, there was one particular part about Mike McKenzie. It bascially said that Mike D had talked with McKenzie and MM told Mike D that Payton wanted him gone prior to the season starting, but somehow his hands were tied. He also said that he probably wouldn't be around next year...... Does anyone know where this post ended up or would the original poster repost it? Thanks in advance.

Lets get rid of our only decent CB...that makes sense.

I hope to god this isn't true.

Based on Mike D's and other insider's comments, I had a list in 1-06 of "gone" and "needs adjusting" players.

Of the "gone" list, only MM remains. Of the "needs adjusting", only Joe Horn remains.

I remember that post. McKenzie seems like he's not one of Payton's type of guys. I don't see him being on the team next year. It was impossible for Payton to release him this year since he is the best corner we have, which isn't saying much. Have any of our corners actually gotten an interception this year? I don't remember any. Heck I can only recall our defense getting about 3 picks total this year. 2 by Fujita and 1 by Bullocks.

Ever since Ricky donned it, #34 has been cursed.

Saints INT's

Bullocks: 1
Stoutmire: 1
Fujita: 2

Thats it, only 4 INT's for the year. We are tied with Tampa and San Fran with 4. Detroit and Miami have 3, Washington has 2 and Houston has 1. So basically we are tied for 5th in the league in fewest INT's.

Also, we are -4 in the turnover diferential, witch is tied for 6th in the league for worst.

mike mckenzie is a great run stopping db! unfortunately he can defend the pass at all. he's gone next year if you ask me. i'm tired of watching him get burned every game.

"i'm tired of watching him get burned every game."

you too eh :)

I never wanted him here. I'm sure the ones who did
won't admit it. The same ones who yelled at me
and called me crazy for not wanting him.

While I was not jumping up and down when we got him, I was excited to a certain extent. He was a solid corner in Greenbay and for his 1st (well what he played of it) season here he was exactly what I expected. A good CB that was better than what we had here at the time. However, over last season and this season he has by far not lived up to expectations. He does get burnt, he has not tackled well (see the Reggie Brown long runs) and he just isn't getting it done.

I am not excited about any of our CB's, however someone getting paid like McKenzie should produce a lot more than he is.

i say we make Devery a corner.Whats the difference between a CB and a WR you ask?One can catch the ball, the other cant.

I must say that those stats are kinda scary :scared:

Thanks for the stats.
It's not like the opportunities have not been there.
