They both think we are going down this week. The Giants are going to shut Brees down.
Ok fair enough. I guess you can have your opinion.

But the thing that really made me laugh was when Eric Kusilwhatever said "I don't like the bengals in this game, they haven't beaten a quality opponent all year".

Division crown, 9-5, and a home playoff game, and we aren't quality.

The Bengals also beat the Ravens a couple of weeks ago. But I guess they are not a quality opponent either????

It's all about the flavor of the week in the media. This is how they get people like us to watch them. They say things like that to stir up controversy so people will continue to watch. I mean think about it, if all that they talked about was the same team all year, only that teams fans would watch, so they try to spread it out amongst all the teams and pick their flavor of the week to hype up (usually they hype the game they are showing on MNF).

New York media market homers is what they are. Objectivity is found in small doses at ESPN.

We could beat the Giants if we focus and play well. Perhaps handily.

But bad breaks or effort from us like last week and the Giants could punk us as well. That's why they play the games.

We are fortunate enough to have a very consistent and reliable QB, some good skill players and an aggressive coach. But we are not what I would call a "great" team that is just going to show up and win. We are not there yet.

We just have too many holes on defense. Also, up front on offense, as consistent as we have been at protecting the QB, we lack some horses in the running game. We just can not line up and knock people off the ball consistently.

If we can get the defense shored up and do a better job creating holes for the running game, we can potentially be a real powerhouse. Hopefully some moves in the offseason can address all that have us set for a serious run next season.

Right now we are better than average but really have to fire on all cylinders to beat an elite team, or a very physical one.

Note that we have really really struggled against physical defenses like the Ravens and the Redskins. Getting more horsepower on the O-line might help us in that respect.

Given the state of tyhe NFC, with some breaks we could actually make the Super Bowl but I'm not sure what would happen if we had to face the Ravens or the Chargers.

The same thing was said leading up to the Cowboy game. We all know how that turned out. I am just curious as to why they think a Giant team that has lost 5 of the last 6 and is being scored on at will will stop Brees and the Saints? Sounds like hot air to me..:hmm:

Well, potentially, the Giants have the matchups to move the ball and score on us, keeping us off the field and forcing us out of our game plan.

They can work Jacobs up the middle, where we are vulnerable, and Tiki off the edges. If we can't stop that we could be in for a long day.

And when they get close they can try to get Burress on Fred Thomas in the end zone. That alley-oop style pass has worked for them. If nothing else they might get the P.I. call.

We have our work cut out for us.

Scoring early on them and getting up by 10 or so would be a great start for us. That might get them away from the run a bit.

Please don't cloud the issue with facts...:kerstsmiley:

Honestly, I love it...As far as ESPN Radio is concerned, those two clowns are the biggest jokes on the network...and that is saying alot. Id take a loop of Greenbergs annoying voice over and over again for 24 straight hours rather than listen to one second of what Kuseilias and Gottleib have to spout out of their pie holes. Putting them together on one show is actually a good move by espn...now thay cant screw up separate shows and ruin other parts of your day (should you choose to listen).

As far as the game is concerned...this is going to be one huge test...lets say its a playoff game without it being really the playoffs. Its going to tell us a whole lot whether or not we can advance in the postseason. The Giants are a very good team...so are we. Lets get after it.

Question: Why do you guys continue to worry about what these stupid talk show hosts and analysists say? Who really cares? They've said the same thing about the Saints about quality wins. They were wrong then and they are wrong now! Just let it go already.

I don't disagree that we could lose this game. But what I don't get is why the Giants, who have lost 5 of their last 6 games, are getting so much confidence from the media. I mean what have they done to prove anything. We've won 3 of our last 4.

Just my opinion.

The Giants have the capability to create some real matchup problems for our defense, especially with no Hollis Thomas to anchor the middle.

But in terms of being a good 'team' in the full sense of the word, they have some issues.

If we can get up early on them and demoralize them I think we have the chance to make them quit. That's the kind of season it has been for them.

But we can't let them get up on us quickly. That will put us in a real dogfight.

I watch the 7-8 oclock hour of Mike and Mike on ESPN2 every morning after I get in from work. Usually over breakfast. Its either that or countless paternity tests on the Maury show.

Usually I love the show, because I think Mike and Mike are great.

Because the announcers are New York homers.
