After the Carolina loss, everyone predicted us to pack our bags. and head home for the season.

Now, coming off of the Balitore loss, people are calling
Reggie a Bust, and are probably waiting for us to Crumble.

After watching the game on my DVR, i hate to say it but, we really gave that game away. Penalties, IMHO were more costly than the turnovers. I really din't realize how many penalites we had on third and short, and we also had one on the 4th down conversion by Stecker.

I mean guys, we really self destructed.

Yeah, like brees said after watching the game film. he wants another crack at them, not like its one of can't wait for it to be over.

I am very interested to see how the team handles this loss. They played sloppy and really lost this game themselves. It will be interesting to me to see how Coach whips this team together with a see what happens when you play stupid speech. They know better, have done better, and will be interesting to see how they come out of the gate for the next game. I would hope they will be POed and angry ready to get the respect back they lost.

yea but with out the two ints for touchdowns its a whole different ball game even with the penalties.

Even with the two INTs for a TD, we were in position where we could have kicked 3 field goals in additionto the TDs we had. But we had the Reggie INT, and went for it twice on 4th down. If we kick field goals instead, that would have made the score 35-31. Maybe you could say Baltimore would have approached the game differently had the score been closer, but they couldn't do much after the break.

I agree with iwitnesskr. We were extremely close in that game. Much closer than the score showed. I am sure a lot of you will agree with me on this next statement: the key to almost every sport is momentum. We had the momentum when we got that fumble from Jamal Lewis, but then when we fumbled right back, the momentum shifted right back to them until we gained momentum in the 4th quarter. You hear players talk about it all the time: momentum. The worst team in the NFL can beat the best team in the NFL if they have momentum: Exhibit A --> Bears vs. Cardinals. That is why we are still in excellent position to get into the playoffs and maybe even win the NFC South.

I know I got a bit off topic talking about the momentum stuff, but I just wanted to agree that we would have more than a legit shot at the Gay-von Ravens if we played them again.

I guess I'm not a "real Saints fan" after I turned my tv off early in the 4th qt, when the Ravens went ahead 35 to 7.....but I couldn't watch it anymore! I literally got sick to my stomach and this was the first time that I had to turn my tv off!....that's why I can't blame those fans who decided that they had enough of the "horror show" and left early.....how can anybody blame them for not having enough stomach to endure more of that crap?

The irony of all this wasn't that we weren't good enough......BUT WE BEAT OURSELVES!!......we committed as Scott Fugita would say....a "hara-kiri" on ourselves with all the penalties and turnovers! I don't want to rant on the game anymore, but right now our team is at a crossroad!....we can easily lose the next 3-4 games, and end up 5&6......or win the next 3 games, and go up 8&2!...ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

good post/point

we really looked intimidated by the ravens in our own house. I hate to say it but that's what happened out there. We have a very young team and the hype got into their heads. (the O-line and reggie) I think we should bounce back with Brees' leadership. I still think we win 9 or 10 games as i have always thought. Getting into the playoffs with atl and car in the division is going to be a dog fight though!

You get up and leave the game or shut off the TV is the same thing as the players giving up on the field. The 12th man gave up on the team. mid way through the fourth was I the only one saying now get the ball back and score and we are back in this? from what I have read there are very few of us who did not give up. As for the rest if they were on the team they would have been cut at the beginning of the season like the other cancers on the team.
The team did stop playing the fans did

U are not alone, We would have to be down by 9 with 3 seconds remaining, with no timeouts without the ball before I accept defeat.

Never leave early, never change the channel.

Have only missed about two "plays" in the past 15 years, and that was because I really had to go to the bathroom right before the kickoff of the Saints Giants game after the Sept 11 attacks. True Story.

I'm there till the end.

Bring on the Bucs.

I also noticed that the O-line really looked terrified.

Another thing I noticed while watching the DVR, on the first swing pass to Reggie where he lost 5 yards, If Joe Horn does anything to impede Adalius Thomas, Reggie would still be Running. Great Play design, poor execution (or you could say a great play by Thomas). Im sure Payton will get this corrected.

Horn Drops a 30 yard completion on the 2nd play of the Game. Fails to get both feet down on a critical 3 and 2.
Reggie Fumbles a hand off.
Payton calls a HB pass after two consecutive penalties on the offense, (later admitting it was a selfish call).
Stecker has a ball bounce of of his facemask for a pick 6.
Fujita is robbed of a INT by his own teammate which results in a Ravens TD!!
Campbell Drops two TD's on the same drive (good defense, but top TE's make those catches).
O-Line, played as if the were facing Zeus.

I know that this O-line will be fired up after realizing how terrified they looked on tape.

I dont know if I would of turned it off because CBS said " Well this is a blowout, lets switch over to a more interesting game" and they went to the Philly woopin instead... talk about PO'd ..................I didnt even get to see Colstons TD.... Looks like the network isnt on our wagon anymore !!! Good JUMP OFF!!!!!
