for those of you that love Elderscrolls or Fallout. This game is a descendant of the old PlayStation Classic King's Field. The Japanese team of From Software(Armored Core) have put King's Field to rest and started up a brand new Intellectual Property. After reading the review this has jumped to the forefront of my gaming radar.

The game includes the single player campaign as well as online multiplayer. The game uses Havok physics engine and the review claims it has the best user interface they've seen in RPG games. It has a deep character creation tool.

First Impressions
This game has an interesting basic dynamic. You have a physical body and a soul body. When (not if) your physical body dies, you continue as a soul body in a weakened, reduced, ethereal state. As a soul body, you can only get another physical body by harvesting demon’s souls, but since you are weakened, this necessary goal becomes a lot more difficult. One quickly discovers how precious life is and learns to guard it jealously.

Demon’s Souls really makes you learn what works and what doesn’t. The “normal” difficulty level is the equivalent of “extreme” on most other games.

What’s Not to Like?
Other reviewers have lowered their rankings of this game complaining that Demon’s Souls is too challenging and doesn’t do enough hand-holding. To these reviewers, I say that the Nintendo Wii is a very nice gaming platform and if you want a gaming experience that spells everything out for you, that environment seems to fit the bill. Personally though, I do not necessarily see a high level of difficulty as a deterrent to gaming nor as a negative factor by itself. So long as the buyer is aware that the game is challenging, and so long as the rewards of the game are worth the challenges.

The multi player is a little interesting as it allows 3 players to cooperatively play together, but 2 of the 3 players play as Souls rather than full powered characters. You can also "invade" other player's games as Souls and attack them while they play.

i really wanted another Kings Field game, but while searching for when a new version would be released I found they were making this game.

Yeah, after looking at this thread and in the sneak peek in Game Informer, I've got to get this game. I might even just order the Asian version (which is in English or Chinese) just so I can play it now.
