OK, so several DC area Saints fans have approached me to find out where to go watch the Saints. My current plan is to go to SR.com member Shibby's house to watch the games on his NFL Sunday Ticket. I would be perfectly happy doing that if it were just myself. The problem for most is that he lives even further away than I do from DC (and I'm pretty far out).

Does anyone know of a Saints specific Sports Bar in the DC area?

If not, does anyone want to make it a point this year to find one and MAKE one a Saints specific bar? I'm sure if we get a decent group up and work at it, we could find a way to stake our claim on a sport bar.

Please post anything you know here and if you want to get on the list PM me as well. Please make sure to do both so we get some momentum going.

(MODS: Can you leave this in the general area for a day or so before moving it to the Road Trips and Organization Board? Please? :) :) Thanks!)

PS We are also getting a group together to actually sit together at FedEx field for the Redskins/Saints game in December. PM me for more info on that too.

I'm in Alexandria, but last season (I lived in DC) I'd go to the Green Turtle in Chinatown. Not Saints-specific but right off the metro and pretty good food/beer.

I live up in Germantown, Md (about a 15 minute car-ride north from Shady Grove at the end of the Red Line). Kind of far from the city itself. I usually hit up the Greene Turtle or Bailey's here in Germantown.

When I lived in DC a few years ago, I watched the games at the 18th Amendment, which is located near Eastern Market. There were always a few Saints fans there watching the game. I'll be moving back to DC in mid-October, so I'll definitely be around on Sundays.

I live in DC, we watched all games at Town Hall in Glover Park last year. Pretty good Saints crowd, usually 10-15 of us last year... we had our same corner every game, big flat screen tv... will be there again this year, feel free to join. Will definitely be at the Fedex again this year. Went last year with a group of 20 people... and got kicked out by the cops in the 4th quarter...

Why did they kick you out? We were there as well and were quite noisy and didn't have any problems...

I've been in DC the past two seasons and live near the 18th Amendment. It's not a big place but it's comfortable (has couches) and the food has improved. As Blue Cajun said, there's consistently a group of Saints regulars, maybe a dozen or so. I consider the place a Saints bar on Sundays (we always get at least one of the two large screen TVs, and often both), but the fairly regular contingent of Panthers fans that show up there too may disagree.

Cyrstal City Sports Bar plays all the Saints games and usually has a good Saints base show up. Although you have to deal with every other team as well, but its always a good spot!

I'm with Mueller Time... CCSP is a pretty good place. The best part is that if we get LOTS of Saints fans, and there's already a pretty good showing from the Black'n'Gold, they'll put us on the better placed sets. It's a 5 minute walk from the Crystal City Metro, there's a good deal of neighborhood parking around, it's safe and in a safe neighborhood, even if you're being carried back to your car by your Desig. driver after a particularly juicy win over the Falcons.

Great place to hang with other fans, and by that, I mean I NEVER see any Falcons or Panthers fans, and only the occasional Bucs fan or five comes in. My buddies are Bills and Dolphins fans and we all get to watch our games, hang out, and worship Drew Brees.

And to top it off, it's across the street from the Crystal City Restaurant, which ain't the Quarter, but some of the 'outfits' might make you think you're at Mardi Gras, IYKWIM.

PS- i'll be the drunk guy at the Saints-'Skins game this year. Same outfit as last year, now that I think about it. It's never too soon to start planning, fellow Who'Dats!

i wish i would have known most of these guys when i was living in silver spring and also andrews afb. i was practically believing i was the only one in dmv. im in j-ville fl. now since i retired

I live in Glen Burnie, MD, and ive been going to the Espn Zone for 7 years to watch the game. I actually meet a couple other Saints fans there on Sundays too. Since its the Redskins and Saints they will show it on the big screen, so that would be perfect all we have to do is reserve a couple tables.
