From Jay Glazer's Mailbag:

Jay Glazer said:
QUESTION — Estevan from Shafter, Calif., on the Saints: "Will the Saints go deep into playoffs?"

jay_glazer: I think the Saints are definitely a tough team. They can be one of the more explosive teams as long as Drew Brees stays healthy.

By the way, great story ... coach Sean Payton has secretly been pumping up third-string RB Mike Bell to me for the last month. But get this, he even convinced his son Connor to draft Bell in his son's fantasy league. Peyton thinks he can be the every-down pounding back they need. So Pops told Connor to take him as a late-round sleeper and promised that he'd be a great pick for him. So Connor responded, "Mike Bell? Who's Mike Bell???" Sean said, "Trust me Connor, I might have some insight into this."

Unless he's starting his league up late, he's out of luck. Bell was long gone a week ago in most leagues.

Bell is more explosive than Pierre and he is great at picking his way through a defense. Trent Green summed it up really well: "He feels his way through holes". He's a downhill slasher with a chip on his shoulder. I really like the way he runs. I think he has taken over "the deuce role" in our offense.

Picked him up off waivers after the draft but before the season started. Nobody else knew who the hell he was until Pierre hurt his knee. But I have him too.

When is the last time that Pierre Thomas put a fumble on the ground and someone ran it back for a touchdown? How many Touchdowns has mike bell had this year? How can after one game, can you come to this conclusion?

I guess we were just that one LUCKY team that picked Mike bell up, Noone knew of his talents. He's only been picked up and cut, and practiced squaded like a million times. Pierre Thomas deserves a better team to play for, you people give him absolutaly no respect, whatsoever.

when is the last time, pierre rushed for about 150 yards ?

get over it, bell is the best runner on our current roster.

That is a great story. Very funny. I picked Bell in the last round in my 12 team FF league. He did well for me as I started him last week!

I just go by what I see. It has nothing to do with a players past or any feelings I have about certain players. What I see in Thomas is a guy who lacks explosiveness in small areas. He is very solid in most aspects of the game, but he needs alot of room in order to get to his top speed. He lacks acceleration and explosion. Bell can accelerate and change direction much faster than Pierre and he is better at reading his blocks. and making the explosive cuts to move the ball down the field. I just see Bell running away with the job. From what I see, Hes just better runner.

I agree, bell is a strong runner. Pierre Thomas I think has better vision. I think he is more swift on his feet, and definatly faster. I am just saying, dont give up his job just yet. He hasen't even played his first game this season. I guarentee you that after 2 games, Mike Bell probably won't even be dressing out...well he will be, but you get my point

I've got one thing to say to you GermanSaint....DETROIT LIONS!

Pierre would not have rushed for 150 last week I can tell you that. Didnt he go up against the 0-16 lions team last year and finish under 100 yards. He also fumbled in that game.
