Mary Travers, one-third of the popular 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary who were perhaps best known for their hit "Puff (The Magic Dragon)," died in a Connecticut hospital after battling leukemia for several years. She was 72.

Scraping the bottom of the celebrity barrel I see.

You are too young to remember. PP&M were enormously popular in the 60's. I had a couple of their albums. Great video to post, Kellye. Blowin in the Wind is one of my favorite songs & immediately takes my back to my high school years in my mind.

She was a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. RIP Mary.

She's leaving on a jet plane.

There's either a book or recent article making the case that the Beatles destroyed numerous music genres as an entire generation and executives tailored their focus on their type of music. Certainly folk music disappered from the charts within three years of the Beatles' arrival. The New Orleans music scene was also decimated, and I'd argue PP&M were affected as well. Aaron Neville and Prof Longhair took other jobs, the former as a longshoreman. Koo Koo Ju Juub.

RIP, I liked them and their harmonizing done perfectly
